ok so who of everyone on this forum believe that Edition 38 have a criteria of which cars can be part of there group. now I'm not sayin this because of my car only i am sayin this because i have seen prime examples of beautiful vw's on this website which i think could beat and ed38 car in a show and shine.

so what i am tryin to say is who actually likes the Edition 38 group and who doesnt?

There's no criteria to meet to be part of the 'group' as you call it...E38 is run by a bunch of friends and the end of the day it's a club for those guys (myself included) who all have an appreciation for top quality dubs whether that be polo's or golfs. You can't get in just because you have a nice car or think it's run on a points system.

The forum is just something for the community.

I have always been into Polos.

My first car was a Yreg mk2, black..awesome car. Bought it back in 1998.

Second car was a Treg mk3, Montana green. bought it in 2002. Still own it.

Never owned a golf, airride or splits (yet)

I was on this forum before I was anything to do with Edition.

Really no point to this post apart from saying everyone is into the cars for the same reason.

i just went over to edition for the first with an open mind had a root around and decided its ok but still full of retards and not enough polo love but I'm not against it just saying the we both collectively have retards. but only one thing got to me it was a thread about a guy who wanted to paint his calipers and he just said where can i get it done? i just wanted say do it yourself you plank but that would have been my first post and that would be a bad start. dislike people who cant do a relatively simple task themselves just need to mask up well and unless your rolling on 17s hardly anyone would see the calipers anyway so a 100% perfect paintjob is necessary

Edition is full of scene queens. I have a mate who had a lupo a few years back, it was a cover car at the time, people loved it. Once he sold the car people wanted nothing more to do with him

Don`t even bother starting a readers rides thread on there unless you`ve spent stupid money because you won`t get any replies and ure post will dive to page 3000. I like the Bar for the randomness and the wheel and tyres for sale section other than that its full of people with big egos spending £20k on a 15 yo car

I like ED38, it's much more friendly and when you click "view active topics or new posts" there are always plenty of updated build threads that come out.

This forum is constantly flooded now with stupid threads asking stupid questions.

I also think there's much more banter on that forum and it's so much more relaxed.

With regards to you being completely un-noticed unless you have a show stopping car that's a load of bullshit. The only reason it feels hard to intergrate on that forum is because all the people who are involved in banter and convos mostly know each other and have met at shows etc and actually get actively involved in the community.

Every club/forum has its stereotypes. Edition38 is full of fashion conscious students, Club Polo is full of 17 year olds that hang teddys from their tow eyes, Golf Mk1 Owners club is full of boring old men... etc Doesn't mean you have to distance yourself and limited to one forum. I'm on all three of them Each one appeals to me in its own way!

i dont realy like ed38 i spend most of my time on c.p. polo3 and vwgolfmk1.org for the real golfs i hate all golfs apart from the mk1 to be honest (mine has a g40 engine no tall block )

i dont agree with cars been show pieces i like to see a car actualy do what its suposed to and thats been driven on the limit no point puttin stupid heavy body kits on and then tuning you engine lol no point defeatin the object of tuning it up int first place lol

All of the large VW forums have their elite, and new people will always struggle to be noticed. Thats what happens when a forum gets big. I like smaller forums. MK1 Polo.com is the best I've been on for freindliness and helpfulness and there is none of the so called retards.

Also i dont see the point of moaning about forums on other forums. Doesnt it just make you a forum retard too . It certaintly wont make you anymore popular on any of the forums. Ok you dont like edition 38, but do other forums really need to know that? If you dont like Edition 38, Dont go on it. SIMPLES.

i used to use clubpolo alot but it seems pretty rubbish now....but starting a thread like this is just pointless.
