Hi,

I've found some 14x6 winter steels for my mk3 gt and am now after some tyres, I'm not worried about stretch as i think its silly on a 6j rim. i want to get a tyre which isnt a balloon but sits well on the rim and has the closest rolling diemeter to the original 13inch wheels on my mk3 gt so that the speedo is still accurate.

any help greatly appreciated, (i have searched about 20 pages back)

Hello mate, I'm running a 165/60 on my 5.5 rims so that or 175/ 185 might be a little baloony?

In terms of rolling radius the 165/60 14 has almost exactly the same as the original 155/70 13s i had, google tyre size calculator and have a fiddle on one of those to get the right size and profile for the same rolling radius

185/55/14's aren't too bad mate but for a cleaner looking slight bit smaller go for a 195/45/14 my mate runs those and they look sweet on his mini g60's

thanks so much for your help, yeh they're the old g60 lookalikes, I've just been doing some reasearch and 175/50/14 tyres seem very close to and i can get them for 38 quid each delivered.... budget tyres mind. may have to check out some pics of 14x6's some more.. thanks for your help!! x

195/45 for definate mate. uniroyals are a good choice for winter aswell

185/55x14 on a 6x14 rim

195 seems a touch wide though? I'm down 70mm all round in my mk3 also, what are u running rob?is you are car dropped much phil? x

i ran 195/45s on a 6j rim, and it had a completely flat side wall dude. i'm down 80 up front, 60 out back... it doesn't rub at all. they're a little bit price but you pay for what you get, contisports are the best tyres i've ever driven on. 175/50s are a nice size on 6j aswell mate.

175/50 are super close to same radius, and i can get sme budgetish ones for them so i think thats what I'm going for, thankyou for alll your help!!
