Sorry if this is in the wrong place!

I'm not going to go in to too much deatail as it could be a simple mix up and dont want to give anyone a bad name!

I arranged to buy an item from someone on here yesterday and arranged courier to collect today and need the item by tomorrow. Also paid for the item via bank transfer last night! Since then I have had no word from them and the courier got back to me with a failed collection.

I am now sat here 140 quid out of pocket and unsure what to do about it? I just send the member a message asking whats up and waiting for reply!

Anyone any advice on what I should do?

I will if this doesntget sorted mate dont worry about that. But only just got in from work and if its a innocent mistake dont want to bad name anyone, I'll give them a chance!

I've done similar, sent a vag-com cable to someone on here, to use and then return. I just said to him "cover my postage costs". I got a PM from him about a month back saying that the cable was a great help, I said, ok, just return it to me, here's my address then you can pay for the usage. I'm still waiting for the cable to be returned and for him to pay me for it. I chase him every week and track the PM's so I know it's been read and when. I've still not had a reply. I've also done a paypal funds request and still nothing.

This is the first time I have delt with anyone like this ... I rather meet in person and exchange money and goods but the distance was too far and courier was cheaper than petrol!

I've been a fool, the phone number he give me is out of use and should had checked it last night first! Although courier people say the was no one home for collection so its not like they where just turned away!

Our lass is telling meto involve police but I think its abit soon or do I just trust people too much? I really needed these by tomorrow and all

I'd say 24 hours, then take all the evidence you have to the police and at least start a case.

Well if you both arranged to do the deal he should have kept up his end of bargain but also emergencies crop up! (is it the coilovers?) so give him chance keep ringing him try 192.com and find a landline number for the address you sent the courier too!

This also keeps happening! I would like to see paypal or other secure methods made a mandatory option for buyers on the forum! Would stop alot of this and take the work load of these scum bags off our mods/admin that have quite alot on ATM!!

No, I replied to the add he was selling the item! I was thinking I need to give him a chance first but just fumming as understandable!

Cheers bud never though of giving 192 ago, I've tried the number I was given a few times now and justgetting not in use! If I saidit was the coilovers I'd be giving it away would I :p

deposit the funds to a third party or a moderator off the site.. when you get the goods the funds are sent on... be better than chancin your arm and hope the guy in decent and has what he claims to have..!!!!

Wish I had thought of this before hand, just never dealt this way ... guess we live and learn. I did ask if I could send half money now and half when recevied but he wanted ull lot. But thought it was still understandable as I could had done off with the item half price

Looking back through your posts, seems pretty simple to identify the seller. The fact that he only joined this month and has 7 posts mainly in the for sale sections is fairly suspect. Put your trust in Mr DKnight^ he's fairly experienced in stuff like this but the fact you paid by bank transfer makes it difficult.

I know the bank transfer is the one thing I do regreat live and learn I suppose. However I done some digging and discovered, his mothers name he give me for a point of contact is on the electro roll at te address gien so thee is hope I guess.

I dont want the guy given a bad rep, looking back I think I have said too much ... but if I do get sorted and stuff or if I have been done I'll be sure to let you's know whether the rep is good or bad!

asked him about a number of things and if he had some brakes

looking back now, i have been stupid as the offer was too good

but like youve said you stick by your word and so do i so i expect it in others

luckly there is a chance of me getting my money back as i did it through paypal

only bit of advice id give to you mate is only pay by paypal on these forums and when paying send as Goods

and dont Gift the money and you have a chance of getting your money back with them.

Ask DK to trace his sign up email to facebook, try get info from google with same email adress be surpised what you can find these days!
