A late, incorrect and undervalued item

Featured Replies

Basically I ordered a suspension kit and momo team steering wheel off a site, I paid for their own brand suspension kit as it was recommended for good ride quality.

3 days later i ring them and i'm told they dont have the shocks in stock so they need to get them in which will take until wednesday to get them to me. I asked them why they took money from my account without telling me this and was told it was a security payment as they don't often get mk1-3 polo suspension parts in stock and me paying was securing the fact that i'd go ahead with the transaction.

I took it in my stride and accepted that they would come on wednesday, much to my suprise a package arrived today with my momo and suspension kit.

however they've sent me a fk kit which is roughly £40 cheaper and ride like absolute shit compared to the ones i ordered.

Could anyone recommend something? I'm obviously going to ring them tomorrow just wanted to know if anything similar has happened to any of you in the past?

Thanks

This is a British Company right? If they took your money then they should provide you with the right kit, not a cheaper one. Ring them and see what they say, if necessary a courier can deliver your new kit, then take the old one away which removes the hassle of returning it.

You need to ring them and tell them you only ordered the others because of research done on ride quality, obviously also mention the price factor.

One tip, BE NICE, if you're a nice customer they'll do more to help you. If they start getting funny with you then call trading standards, who will advise.

You'd also be covered under distance selling regulations which basically gives a consumer (not business) 7 working days from date of deluvery to return the product for a refund, for any reason.

Only thing I can't remember with dsr is if the goods have to be unopened or not.

security payment? utter waffle, what they mean is they dont want to be ordering bits in that they get stuck with if you change your mind, a dirty trick really, they should have just been honest and said it was special order etc

they have sent the wrong kit so just tell them that, there is nothing they can say? If they try with more waffle just repeat that this is not the kit you ordered that is on your invoice, if they ask for it returning, stress that they need to arrange a courier, do not send it yourself, it is up to them to sort the problem not you

google search "distance selling regulations"

this was put in force for issues like yours

but be aware there is no special dsr police, you would have to take them to court over it, which takes time and will cost you about £80 in total which you would get back

but i think all that is irrelevant as they will not take it that far with the facts

Great, thanks for the info guys. Going to ring them at 10 and see what they say.

I'm such a poor law student, I should have some awareness of all this ahah.

The dsr info really helped, ringing them now.

Just owned the guy on the phone...He tried to tell me 1. They reserve the right to use fk shocks in their venom suspension kit 2. I could only have a refund if I arranged a courier and 3. They wouldn't email me an invoice as they "usually" put them in with the item.

There was no invoice.

What was the outcome?

Offered a full refund, they're arranging the courier.

I now kinda can't be bothered with the hassle...They don't actually stock their own suspension kit anymore?

Thinking it might be worth getting an HnR cup kit, it's only an extra £100 or so.

Opinions?

Problem solved, they rang me up and offered free delivery on any item I bought from them in the future...Obviously I know there's nothing to say they'll keep their word but I really couldn't be bothered to wait about any longer to get my autowagen lowered.

The motorsport company is Venom Motorsport.

I feel it's only fair to name them as they've done this to a few of my friends. Never had trouble with them in the past, in fact the reason why I went back to them this time was because of the swiftness of the delivery and excellent customer service. Just feel liks this time they didn't want to help me, or solve the problem which was caused by them.

So if you have the choice to go with them or another company, you know what advice you'd get from me.

That is all.

Thanks everyone, in particular DKnight.

Was gunna say, there a pretty big company aren't they.

Glad its sorted anyways

You always get good and bad runnings with big company's, some of there staff are bloody useless, which isn't always the company's fault.
