Since these pics have been taken I have put some standard rear lights back on.

Future plans;

Coilovers

New alloys, probably some more BBS's in better condition

New steering wheel

Dash with rev counter.

Get the rust on the front wings sorted and dents removed!

Just want to keep it tidy and origional.

Hopefully will see regular updates on this :)

Hope you like!!!

looking very clean mate, plans sound good.

if i were you i'd keep those wheels, refurb and get some nicer tyres on them. either way looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I like it. It looks really clean and your plans for it sound pretty good. If you do get rid of them wheels drop me a PM because I might be interested in them for the right price :-) Or as said above keep them and give them a refurb and you'll be onto a winner.

Cheers guys

TBH a couple of the wheels are a bit buckled! I am planning to keep them as winters and get a nicer set for shows with some lower profile tyres!

Its a daily drive so these wheels will be on it most of the time, I do plan to get them refurbed tho! they are BBS's of a BMW!

Need to get some coilovers or sports shocks/springs, its strange but I have noticed the car sits a little higher on one side than the other, tailtail signs on the rear is that one of the shocks is yellow and the other black so a bit of mix and match suspension :D

All little things I want to get sorted :)

lop sided suspension is std on mk3s, even when they have the same shocks all round! the wheels are bbs mahles, pretty sort after and worth a few quid in good nick. car looks a good start point!

Really! How strange. Its not major and hopefully coilovers will sort it out.

Yep they are BBS Mahles, they are not in the best condition, one of them is slightly buckled but will see if I can get them sorted and refurbed!

Looking forward to putting my own stamp on it, its a cracking little car!

Later spec lights fitted

Rear "Polo CL" and "Coupe" badges painted red and "Catalyst" badge removed

Aero wipers bined (didnt like the look of them on a car they were never designed to be fitted to!)

Some front speakers at fit the holes in the dash (previous owner had some 10cm in there just loose and the grills didnt fit  )

Rear "VW" badge painted black

Rear window sticker collection growing

I have got this mint set of BBS RA's to go on, just need to break the golf and get them off!

Still going to keep my Mahle BBS's tho and hopefully getb them refurbed in VW Flash Red, going for a black and red theme on the car.

Hopefully on order a set of dash clocks with rev counter and some red side repeators of eBay!

Let me know what you think?

Luke

Looks very tidy mate!

Personally I think you should stick with the mahles 8-)

Yeah everyone is saying that and I'm beginig to agree! Its just the bloon tyres! Think they are a 60 profile? What other profile tyres can I fit to these rims?

165/55/13 would go on there beautifully mate! You can get them for 25 quid a corner too.

Aah okay, I will get some of them when I get the rims repainted! Thanks for your help mate :D

Those white wheels look dope!

How did you get the car to run without the airflow sensor.

Are those tyres 185/60/13? Liking the chunky look of them.

My 165/55/13's are a bit too small.

How did you get the car to run without the airflow sensor.

It's an SPI (single point injection) so doesn't have one. Instead it has basically a carb type throttle with a single injector in. ;) only the GT engines and NZ code 1.3 engines (like mine) had multi point injection and hence a MAF ;)

Ok, any tips on how to change the panel filter to a pod filter?

Also, what carb would you suggest to put on the car?

What polo have you got mate? If it's a mk2 facelift (1990-1994 year) with single point injection, u need a golf mk3 SPI intake elbow (think someone on here is selling one in the cars breaking section). I had this on my 1.3 polo mk2f. If yours isn't injection it'll prob be a mk2 (older shape polo), in this case if I want power then u could use bike carbs, or a weber?

Its a 1991 cl coupe with multi point injection, other than that I know very little about my car. I'm new to modifying cars and am trying to self teach myself mechanics so any advice and help you could give me would be extremely useful

Start a build thread on here with some pics mate & I'm sure the guys on here can talk u through doing stuff to your polo ;)
