Raspy raspy

Featured Replies

If you can weld why dont you just make your own exhaust? I just got 3m of mild steel pipe to make a manifold and side exit, so i can get rid off the shit powerflow exhaust ( £20 if anyone wants it). "just a little bit louder to make everyone hear you coming and five minutes later see you and think what a stupid idiot" Its because we like to be a idiot grandad :)

I've got a full G40 stainless system on my GT (stright through to backbox), sounds raspy ass hell from behind the car. but inside its just a burble.

Grungieisdead's GT is increadably raspy, not sure what its runing exhuast wise though.

Debafling your rear backbox will make the car retardedly loud, and will let all the tractor type noises escape.

Best trying different rear boxes if you on a budget.

As for 8v's not poping, wanna hear my GT?

depends how you car is running and what mods it has i surpose.

hah sorry about the amount of posts, but has anyone else experienced their polo going through emissions without a cat? ;)

was decent lol and i suppose the exhaust loudness thing comes into what your mot place is like and how friendly you are with them :p

Just read all this and tbh i think if you want a loud exhaust then thats your choice.

Personally i love loud exhausts that pop etc and I'm in a similar position, i wanna make my standard exhaust sound deep without spending 100's so could cutting boxes out etc achieve it?

Sorry for the thread hijack btw :)

it will fail!

unless your really friendly with the tester then he will put it on another car when when no ones looking :ninja:

as for the loudness most places will pass them if they are not ridiculously loud, again down to the tester

nah it passed mate :p didnt belive it myself

have have people done with their post lambdas on 6n2s with decats?

and i cant get my 8v to pop but its running standard as fook lol

my mate had a 6n 16v ('ash dub' on here) that had a 4-2-1 mani with stainless straight through system done my philj

and that was THE raspiest car I've ever heard

and that went bang like a 9mm

and invest in some ear plugs :)

or blast you tunes :p

My baffles where folowing me along the road once , I pulled up at teso and thought shit..

After tugging it all out you could hear me a mile away. Sounded like i had an old city metro which was about to explode. Was funny when you floored it but sounded like my car was falling apart (which it was) breaks failed lol and the airbag decided to stay behind the steering wheel :s

the logical reply to this is surly buy a cherry bomb or something similar of ebay?

hah what a drainer mate! i haven't got airbags no more :p epic fail for when i crash haha

Isn't it illegal to modify an exhaust to make it louder?

Isn't it illegal to modify an exhaust to make it louder?

your right, but that does make nearly every aftermarket exhaust illegal.

Its illegal to modify a stock exhaust to make it louder, its also apparently illegal to fit an exhaust louder than standard. so thats 90% of the Aircooled scene in trouble to start with.

And if the EU gets its way it will be illegal to fit anything except a standard manufactures exhaust, the same law will also then apply to all non-manufacturer approved after market items, and the main reason kids is that modified cars are dangerous. Bloody EU Bellends!!!

the insurance dont need to know, like whats the chance of a insurance assessor

(who is looking for any thing that will void the policy) to spot any mods

Induction kit? 4branch? lowered? if your car looks like its modified in any way at all they'l use any excuse to void your policy. they're not complete retards you know.you're playing a fools game there imo.

or should that read

i have no insurance, because thats basically what happens.

Its shocking that you dont care. I hope you get pulled and the book thrown at you or have a accident that isnt your fault and you get nothing because your insurance company refuse to pay out anything....even if your genuinley injured.

Retard.

Clown for not declaring....

Back on topic - loud exhausts have fucked my ears  Constant ringing....

indeed it is a fools game! hey ho! youve probably jinxed it for me hah

but i use police quotes and epic blags from me,

incident 1

"do your insurance know youve disabled your airbag system with that steering wheel?"

"dont know my mum does my insurance"

"so how is she to know? who are you insured with?"

"urmm direct line"

"oh they probably know then"

incident 2

"does your insurance know youve lowered your car? i can see from here that your tyres are wearing out on the rear from where youve had too much weight in the back?" i actually swapped my fronts with rears

"i dont know it was like it when i bought it, i think so"

"ok well, you should check( isnt that their job?),whats your occupation?"

"I'm a student"

"studying what?"

"motorvehicle engineering"

"ok you should know better, heres your fine for pressed metal plates"

hah

Worst case scenario, you crash into someone seriously injuring them, your insurance wont pay out the £300000 compensation which they deserve. Which means you have to, as you cant afford to declare you definately cant afford to pay that, i assume your parents cant either so they'll lose their house to pay for it. Youl be fucked.....

And its happened, so dont think I'm being all preachy

cant afford it, then dont do it - simples

Most honest lads on here have declared there mods. Just people like you that haven't. Shame theres more people like you in the VW scene now.

I was going to reply with a helpfull answer. Before your attitude towards not declaring mods became apparent.

God help us if thats the future of motor vehicle engineering.

Word.
