Worst case scenario, you crash into someone seriously injuring them, your insurance wont pay out the £300000 compensation which they deserve. Which means you have to, as you cant afford to declare you definately cant afford to pay that, i assume your parents cant either so they'll lose their house to pay for it. Youl be fucked.....

Bragging about your mates or whatever doing it as well doesn't make it anymore acceptable.

You may aswell just not bother having any insurance? as your paying whatever atm for no reason as your not actually insured....

you're deceiving the insurance into insuring your vehicle as standard when it's clearly not.

the property is the paperwork you get to show you are insured.

I dont think you understand the implications of not declaring your mods on insurance.

My 19 year old mate with a done up 106 gti has just had to pay out 14 grand in legal bills and expenses for that exact problem. He hit someone doing 30mph up the arse and they claimed their neck was fucked, now he is fucked. His parents have had to move house because of it.

Plus, if the police pull you, they can seize your car. Then its 200 quid a day storage and whatever else you get charged. Were telling you your being retarded, which may be harsh. It might just you being a bit younger and naive, weve all been there. But seriously mate, sort it out.

Dunno. 99% of the time,all that happens is they get nicked. And all they usually get is 6 points,plus a couple of minors for the few other things plod usually finds at the time. Plus the bus fare home,as they take the car and small print seldom allows it returned. Few hundred quid fine,lost car,and its all over for a while.

Often worth the risk for the particularly young driver,as long as you dont hit anyone and get hit for tens of thousands in compo from the occupants of the other vehicle - that'll have your family's name blacklisted and ruin your chances of a mortgage for decades.

But its only money,you cant get imprisoned for it afaik.

Doing it is one thing, you are an adult its your risk, but saying you do on a public forum, where you have entered your DoB, location and pics of your car is not the wisest of moves. Its not just search engines that have bots crawling sites saving data off the net

If your wanting a raspy exhaust talk to Longlife or someone like them to see how they would do it then make your own with scrap pipe and boxes, when you get a sound you like you can always make it in SS.

My mods are all declared.

Always been on my own insurance, too.

the problem is with younger drivers these days is we get absolutly raped on insurance. £2800 for my 1.4 6n and £3500 for my 1litre saloon i can afford to declare my modification on the saloon because I'm in a pretty good paid apprenticship at the moment. i will admit i've drove for periods of time wihtout declaring mods but come on everyone you've got to feel sorry for the people still in school in 6th form or whatever because everyone wants to modify there cars but hardly any young driver can afford the insurance on their cars as it is let alone with modifications. give the lad a break it's up to him weather he wants to risk it or not, at the end of the day it's not really affecting any of us here. just because most of you are older more 'experienced' drivers doesn't mean you can give almost every young driver shit on here, whitch is all a see now.

as he said its not going to effect any of us and he knows its wrong. the amount of cars with undeclared mods on the road is incredible, next time your out have a look how many cars with non standard wheel trims tow-bars gti stickers etc
