next car recommendations? (fabia vrs, fiesta st..?)

Featured Replies

A std VRS will waste a Fiesta ST - they have no torque and weight loads! Ok so its a 2.0 with about 150bhp. but they aint quick!

Judging by just how much faster my 16v is, I get the feeling even a Mk2 8v GTI wouldn't let one past...

Yeah - I'v got quite a reputation on there for telling the people on there what I think - whether they like it or not! I'm the same user name! :)

I'm pretty sure an 8v on full chat would be a pretty good match for an ST - they weigh 1187kg - they fabia is 1315kg - but the way both cars deliver there power - the VRs is far more useable! A £200 remap will see you upto 170bhp easy! Plus the std air filter system is choked - and the EGR vlave is a joke - ditch it and get a bypass pipe with a boost guage take off - Job done! :)

What are you looking for? If it's performance, drop the ST off the list...

To be honest I'm just looking for a change. I've just come into this money and want something newer. Obviously everyone wants performance, as well as low running costs. For the low insurance group, tax bracket, and performance it looks like the vrs wins hands down out of my list. I feel like I can have a nicer car for the amount i'm paying on tax, fuel, insurance etc. on the mk2. Any other suggestions for about £4k, maybe a bit more?
