Mileage is unknown I'm afraid

It was in a mk3 Polo GT hatch that used to belong to Gaz on here, Gaz sold it to lad down near Newark on Trent

I bought the car off him after he'd only had it a couple of months....... he needed a family car

I put the GT hatch back to GT spec & stuck the engine in my Orange Polo coupe

Later I put the engine into my Blue Polo Coupe

Both of my car's have been in Practical Performance Car ... PPC Challenge 2008 & 2009

I haven't put many miles on the engine as neither of my car's where used to commute to work in (I go to work on bike)

When I put it into my second Polo, I did the following

cleaned the block.....painted it black

painted the gearbox silver

DIY ported the head

head gasket

Been asked if I'll sell the chip & cam separately

Initially I considered doing that, but now I've 100% decided I want to sell the lot complete

Basically I've only put it up for sale because I'll soon to be building a mk2 Golf with a VR6 in it & the £££ will help get that started

GT inlet fits straight on an ABD head

cool, so was it all in good order when taken out no knocks or rattles? was it a reliable engine? as i want it for a car that il be able to drive to university and back every weekend. thanks

There nowt wrong with it

Only took it out of the blue Polo Coupe because I was going to stick it in a mk1 Golf

I put a 1.0 in my blue Polo Coupe & sold it

then I got a mk3 Golf VR6, then a Sierra Cosworth, sold that, got a mk2 Golf VR6 & bought my blue Polo back

I've recently bought a Passat VR6 thats only got 66k on it & I'm going to use the engine from that to make a mk2 Golf VR6

So, even though the ABD engine is probably better on fuel as the current 1.0 motor .... I'm leaving it as it is cos I don't need more than one fast car

I've had near on 400 miles to a tank of petrol out of this engine...... with the 8P gearbox it would do 144mph in theory ..... if i'd used a GT gearbox it would be hitting the rev limiter in 5th at a little over 120 on the clock

is the 1.4 sump anythin like the 1.6 sump ?? is there decent ground clearence as my polos not exactly high off the floor lol, ? deffo intrested, have u got a contact number mate ??

i know you say you want to sell complete, but if you ever did split id take the 8p box, not too far from you either..ish lol

Sorry it goes complete .. either that or I keep it .. or I may even re-fit it to my Coupe & sell that for £1000

So this will bolt straight in to a Mk3. All i need is a new fuel pressure pump off a Mk3 Golf?

Goes straight in a mk3 (I've had it in 2x mk3's)

You'd need a Polo mk3 GT main pressure pump ... the one underneath the rear of the car, on the drivers side
