thanks i will have a do at this 1 nite this week , does changing these wires keep it charged when the ignition is of yes?

Yeah, it just acts as a memory backup & power supply for the unit. All the ignition wire does is turn the unit on when you turn the key and off when you remove it. Simples.

did it work because i have the same problem does it require solidering? cheers.

It should just be moving the two wires around into the different slots....If i've read correctly.

Does this mean that my stereo will always be on though? don't want to drain my battery. lol

No, it won't drain the battery, the yellow (iirc) is memory live so needs a constant supply, the red is the main power so only cones on with ignition.

Also, 1 thing I've never worked out on my car is that my my headunit lost all settings with red and yellow swapped and when they were straight, it remembered since on the 6n2, they need to be crossed. Ah well, it works...

I have still bot done this I look at it with complete blank face :/

So confusing to me. When you say swap around Tge cables do you mean from the plug that is directly in the headunit and I don't know what the dash one means. Anyone can do pictures that would honestly make me so happy. I can donoictures. Thanks in advance!

The red and yellow wire coming out of the cd player is going into the red and yellow wire in the wiring from the dash. Unplug the clip connecting the two, and swap the red and yellow wire coming out of the cd player around, so that the red wire is going into the yellow wire in the dash, and the yellow wire is going into the red wire in the dash.

My headunit had clips on the wires so i can adjust it easily without unplugging the pins from the connector. If you still need a picture i'll get one up later for you.
