Rear door won't unlock?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

The driver's side rear door won't unlock. I locked it one day as normal, just by pushing the pin down (no central locking) and it has stayed locked since then. I can't pull the lock up or do anything with it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Matt

Could try and pull the handle to open it, whilst pulling it try lifting the lock up or down

If not try and get the door card off and have a wee look inside sumit could be jammed or the air pump bit that locks the door could be nackerd

Mine has done this a few times! The locking mechanism works on like an 'L' shaped piece of plastic that is hinged in the corner so when you push the pin down it moves the other bar to lock/unlock (difficult to describe sorry!) Basically with mine the hinge broke on the 'L' shaper piece of plastic. If you take the door card (pull the plastic cover off the grab handle, undo the 2 screws, take winder off by sliding the ring between the handle and doorcard, unscren lock pin, then pull the door card away and up) off then you'll see what i mean. I just pushed the hinge back into its hole and its been fine ever since.

Hope this helps! :)

Ok brilliant thanks, I'll try this today. Sit tight, and I'll be coming back here if I have any problems!

Right, I've done all that, the door panel has popped off, but I can't seem to remove it. It seems wedged rather tightly where the rubber seal for the window is. It's all moving freely ready to come off apart from that top part, and I don't want to force it. Any tips here?

No worries glad you got it sorted. Was it the funny hinge thing that had come off?
