when my mate reversed in his metro gti the miles went down

I've currently got my 68 beetles insurance with them, I'm about to insure my polo and I don't think that they are willing to provide my new insurers with a proper NCB proof and though they are willing to supply a letter proving I haven't made a claim in the past year some insurers won't accept it and give a No claims discount.

Why would they do that?!

And how have you got such a low quote buddy, is it under your name still, because they told me they don't insure under 25's :/

Also dude, don't forget that even if they don't check on your mileage throughout a year of normal driving.. if you end up crashing it, they will definately check then.

They could easily tell from previous MOT what your mileage used to be. You'll technically be void of insurance and whilst you might not be too bothered about losing your car, you will be fucked if you have to pay for some £50,000 Merc you've just written off!

Just a thought, like.. just as you could always disconnect your clocks..

I'm not sure, I think it's because they don't accept them in the first place for a classic policy. Also, they do insure under 25's if it's on a classic policy, just not through their website.

I've got mine limited to 1500 miles, once i reach that i will up it so I'm covered, its a good way to get the policy cheap at the time and then adjust as you drive, if you crash they will check the mileage you can be sure of that so if you get close to that mileage def up it, the price wont increase dramatically and chances are you could probably pay of the difference there and then, thats what I'm going to do.

tell em your milage is 4500 miles more than what your clockssay and you'll have double the milage

It worked on my dad's bike though. He made a gearbox from mechano and used a drill to bring the miles back down.. I remember this when i was like 6.

But i've not seen that film.. I'll just cover myself and say i thought it was a MK1 or something.

I know that Mk3 Polo clocks can be wound back easily using a drill, but I've never seen a car take miles off going in reverse.

When you say thinner wheels, do you mean a smaller rolling radius? The difference is likely to be minescule tbh!

pull the speedo cable when you hit your limit, you wont have a speedo anymore but the miles wont go up.

they don't insure under 25s on modern car insurance, but they do on classic. but you can't get a quote online, you have to call up =]
