Hi,

I'm after the rear shelf and boot carpet if you have them. How much for them? Can you post to Norwich (at my expense of course)

Price or everything that's left as it is where it is? Except the wheels and the back box.

Can't stand seeing a good car go to waste because someone can't be arsed to do a simple job.

agreed completely, simple earthing out somewhere and minor probs doesn't account for breaking

Despite my better judgement I've decided to reply to this and clear a few things up. Firstly, there was no "can't be arsed" about this situation. And there were more problems that needed sorting than just the engine. I invested a lot of time and money in this car and I hardly think doing a full engine swap amounts to not making the effort. However, after nearly two months of being without a car, I just couldn't afford to keep going with it. Being a student who has to actually work to pay his way through uni (unlike all the daddy's little rich kids I seem to see about who get everything paid for) I don't have an endless supply of money to throw at this, and believe me if I could have afforded to keep at it, I would.

And anyway, all of this is irrelevant. At the end of the day it was my car, my choice.

I also have to say that with your attitude I wouldn't give you a price anyway as I'd rather see it go to the scrapper than sell to someone who thinks insults are the way to reach a deal.

I agree to a certain extent. Had you crashed it you'd have got sympathy.

They're your parts to sell, you paid for them and you can do what you like with your own property.

But on the other hand,i could've got it running with relative ease, they're simple cars, and this sad story is just pure madness. Seems you need to searching the wrong mechanics, should find someone who actually knows what they're doing with these cars.

Of course people are angry, and as you keep adding fuel to the fire you've started, instead of helping people sort this out,its being aimed at you.

Fact is,you're on a Polo enthusiast site waving about a great looking rare and desirable classic Polo, saying its being scrapped due to a technical issue that some of us could've sorted.. And that's like waving lamb and knife about at a vegetarian convention.

You're hardly in a position to talk to others about tact,attitude,manners..

May i ask, have you scrapped the bodyshell,or removed saloon-only parts from it (such as tail lights and boot lid) ??

If not,are you prepared to offer it for sale, complete with logbook - so that someone can put it back on the road with a less desirable donor such as a rusty facelift breadvan?
