GT insurance renewal coming up in a month or so

Featured Replies

How much are you 19 year olds paying on insurance for you GT Coupes?

Who are you with?

I've got renewal coming up in May, and then best I've found SO far is £600 ish, not far off £700, TPFT. This really isn't good enough as I currently pay £800 fully comp. just now with mods declared.

I'll have 2 years NCB, been driving for over 2 years. No claims or convictions etc.

Anyone got someone to recommend to get insured with? Are these Brentacare lot a good deal? I hear a lot of people going with them with their VWs. I phoned them last year, but they wouldn't insure me under 18. I'm 20 this year.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

did you declare your mods after you had done them all?

and what insurance company are you with now?

Wheels were declared straight away, suspension came later in the policy.

I'm currently with ASDA getting staff discount and interest free monthly payments. But a quote from them this time doesn't seem to be as good - although I didn't phone them..

Brentacre were good for me last year, but now I have some NCB Adrian Flux blew them out of the water. Flux wanted HALF Brentacre's 'best' price for me as an existing customer, and Brentacre couldn't match it.

Best bet is to ring around a fair few places, what's good for someone is pricey for someone else. I'd have thought you'd be able to get it for under £500 though with 2 years' NCB.

Yeah, that's definately the figure I'm aiming for this time round.

I'll give Brentacare and Adrian Flux a call though, and see what they say.

I'm currently paying £440 a year, TPFT with Direct Line.

I'm 21 with 1 Year's NCB, vehicle is kept on the driveway with a 10k est annual mileage. Haven't declared my recent suspension modifications yet tho. I was paying £850 last year with 0 NCB.

Don't know whether that's any help, mine's up for renewal at the end of may so be interested to see what some of your best quotes are.

Anyone? ^^^

Cheers.

Couldn't find the number for Brentacare via Google. Only loads of VW discussion on them in forums. But no numbers. No matter 8-)

One quote so far, so good.

Brentacare. £580 TPFT with 100bhp limit. No charge to any mods, and performance mods included as long as I don't go above that figure. That's awesome.

Wait and see what Flux and HIC say

Adrian Flux gave me one of £700

Don't go with HIC - their underwriters are highway.

Really a set of twats if you need to claim. Long term members of the club will remember Keith Lee taking HIC off our list of club friendly insurers for this reason!!

I'll be going with Brentacare most likely.

Just insured my GT Coupe with Endsleigh, £384 TPFT. I'm 20, 1 years NCB, car kept on driveway, alarm/immobiliser. Found the quote through confused.com.

Pray you never have to claim.

Hopefully I won't. What makes you say that?

And at the end of the year i will have 2yncb as they are chucking an extra year in for free

I don't see how they can enforce a 100bhp limit , wierd.
