Got a set of calipers, they are stamped VW11, come from a early MK2 Golf, so no carriers.

they are very smooth and the pistons are clean! NO hoses!

doesnt matter about carriers these work with vw1 carriers bud

I am looking to upgrade the brakes on a MK2f (MK3?), would these be considered better than the original items. Can I use my existing discs and what size pads would I get?

I've just done this conversion bud they are better than original you need vented disks (check ebay there reasonable) pads you can get from any good auto factors and i make sure you ask for g40 pads as thats what you need

Yes mate they would be better than the standard brakes, you would need to get g40 vented siscs and g40 pads for them which you can get from euro car parts! i have sold both sets, payement has been sent for one but not the other, hopefully that should be sent very soon so i can post them!!

BUUUUT

i do have one more set of VW11 calipers. These are from a MK1 Golf, i put them against the ones from a mk2 golf and they seemed to be very similar in shape and sices etc. they are slightly different shapes and curves, but they fitted on the carriers i have so i cant see why they wouldn't fit aswell!!

These ones come with Braided hoses so £45 posted. PM me to let me know mate!!
