I've painted my car matt black and it is looking rather dirty and I'm wondering how do i clean it, i obviously dont want to use car soap on it as that will make it shiny right?

Any help appreciated want to get it clean today

Oooh have you got any pictures of it? I'm dying to see a matt black 6N and if you wash it or wax it, it wont get any shinier.

Grrr, its making me want to spray my car matt black dam you lol. i dont know if you can wax it actually, I think you can but as far as I'm aware you can wash it and it wont get any shinier. Theres something in the paint that already makes it shiny but i dont think it can be made any shinier even if its laquered.

How many rattle cans you use?

I've been told any wash and wax, laquer etc will make it shine and ill be reallyyyy pissed if it went shiny i need someone with a matt car to tell me their method idealy lol

Google might have the answer lol, and try it on a test panel before you do. And i can ask someone who has a matt black car if you want? Hes had matt black cars for years...

I have clean my car.many of times with jus cheap car was stuff from tesco and it has not.once gne shiney if u look at my thread in the gallery bit u will see i have jus given it a clean

use normal shampoo, buff dry with microfibre, for a really even watermark free look, use a quick detailer and microfibre after drying.

ahhhh, so do i use a sponge etc as usual and then what do i use to dry the car after???

yeah wash with sponge/mitt then buff dry with a microfibre

I used to wash my matt black civic with normal car wash shiz, and after it had dried it went back to looking matt again

I've heard (but could be wrong) you wash with any run of the mill shampoo but used a thin oil (like wd40) to polish. But I can see this making a satin effect

And erm, i use autoglym car shampoo, you wanna swill it off quicktime though and make sure you dry it quick. My paint marks like a bitch if its left!

Always use a mitt over a sponge, pref a expensive (sheepskin) one. Sponge's are shit and can (will) ruin the paint.

I guess on a matt car it wont be as noticeable but still. using a mitt cant be a bad thing.

lmfao i know :') i got it off ebay was like £2.50 WELL SPENT!!!!! i saw it and instantly was like wow...

for cleaning matt paint, use a jet wash and brush. dont leave it dirty too long or it stains the paint

I dont clean, just spray over.
