the top one, is a bit too much for my taste, theres too much going on, lots of different 'cheap' things bolted on.

where as the bottom one is brilliant. money has been spent where it counts.

yeah they are cheap but the way some people are saying it is like they are trying to make a show car with £500. no thats for the people that want to spend '£1000's' on there's were as thats not possible for everyone and is not every ones cup of tea. like shaun mentioned some have a life.

people are just making there car look better with £500 for there own tastes and yeah some come out shit and others look ok.

i do agree with nath on some of his points..but..if people haven't got the money to spend on their cars then they cant exactly help but have a budget...like another post earlier you just got to look around for good deals and you could come out with a nice looking car at the end of it...i had my polo for 3 years now and only earlier this year i found a donar car with coilies, alloys, exhaust, induction kit, smoked tail lights, clear indies, clear side reps, debadged grill, momo steering wheel, blue clocks and 6x9s...all that for £100..i was then able to sell the donar car after i swapped all the stuff over my car for £60..granted i needed knew tyres on a the ones on originaly where shot to bits and everything needed cleaning up and the wheels needed refurbing but my dad used to do refurbs when he was working in a body shop so knew what he was doing...no..my car will never look show standard but i still get complement from people especialy when tell them that the mods came to only £240 inluding the new tyres...personaly i find that its very little money..very well spent...of course i would love to be able to spent the mount some of the people on here do but its just too hard for some of the other people on here

i love budget builds. i really dont see the point in spending thousands on what is basically a pov spec A to B motor,in order to be famous on the tinternet and adored by spotty geeks who dont get layed enough.

If i had 10k to splash on a car, i'd buy and old jag (preferably with a couple of bullet holes), a nice set of wheels and just drop it to the floor. it'd be far cooler than any polo ever could be regardless as to how much money you throw at it.

Sadly i dont have that kind of money to waste on a car, so heres a couple of my old budget bangers

mk2 polo bought for £80

fitted a new wing and sprayed the door the correct colour and generally had fun, all for less than £500 including the car

my 2nd gt breadie. payed £350 for it

spent maybe £400 on it, all on second hand bits. had a few parts kicking around too

my 1st and only gt coupe. payed £100 for it, after it had be filled up with water during a flood.

got the car running again, cleaned it up

got bored of it, decided to make an anti-scene polo using bits found in my local scrapyard

spent naff all on it. tbh they all worked out to be pretty much free motoring, as all got sold on for more than what they cost me. just wish i could do the same thing with my house

i really like this 2nd polo, like said before not loads done at all but the right things done and its been done well, looks tidy and smart, :) well done wheels look so smooth...

I recon I have around 600 worth of parts on mine without including the car:

Wheels: £200

Exhaust: £200

Lowering kit (came on car but include anyway) £100

Other bits: Rado seats, headunit, GT wheel etc £100

I'm fed up with everyone doing the "scene" stuff just to fit in and its getting worse f*ck sake be original for once everyone has there own taste in cars/mods :grin:

just to bring a point up from earlier, that a job is only properly done if money is spent, i dont think thats stricktly true. i agree that in some cases proffessionals are needed to do some jobs well, but i try to eveything on my car myself because i normally dont trust the professional to do a good enough job, i would much rather take my own time over it making sure I'm doing the best job that i can.

I like being scene...I dont see standard cars lowered on wheels as "builds" or "modified", I really am just talking about ones which are completely changed if you understand me!!

i like your car, i usually dont like it when people done what youve done lol, but your car has grown on me...

i think alot of people dont realize not everyone has thousands to spend on there polos, which is what the point of this thread is, its not asking if you think its possible to make a car look good with a low budget, its here for people to share their low budget cars... oh, and arguing/debating isn't what forums are for.

Haven't really done a lot, just coilys, wheels + tyres, and.... I'm struggling to think of anything else! But I'm happy with it. Want some fogs and angel eyes/gti lights now though.

500? pfffttt i'd still have enough change left to fill the petrol tank on it about 4 times over from that, and that's including getting the car and T&T'ing it

I think the problem with alot of people on here is they do stuff to fit in and only like cars that have had alot of money put into them. Sure i like a good show car as much as the next guy but the fun is lost when someone with a 7k car takes the piss outa someone with a £700 one, its like i put a few hundred into my car and nobody notices it but as soon as someone spends a few grand its seen as amazing. On this forum we all like polos and seeing someone do everything to their car themselves, spending a couple of hundred and it looking good should be just as good as a show car.
