Hi there today sprung a new issue with the Polo GT which entails the boot lid not catching when closing the boot meaning I can lift it straight up without pressing the button etc any idea what the cause/fix of this issue would be?

Check the catch - is it stuck open? Bit of WD40 will help free it. Once free clean up the WD40 and use a bit of light grease to lube it.

It's a strange one, if I push the catch closed with the boot up sometimes it'll stay other times it don't and will just spring back, so when I'm closing the boot it basically bounces up as I push it down! :(
