adam_f's Mk 3 Breadvan! -- gone to the scrapheap in the sky!

Featured Replies

Model: Mk3 (mk2f) 1.0l boulevard squareback.

Engine: 1.0l aau

Suspension: Standard for now.

Brakes: "

Wheels and Tyres: 13" polo steels.... soon to be Zolders from a mk2 ranger!

Exterior Styling: Pedo bear sticker, Ariel ball because it was cheap, removed bump strips - to reveal a lovely mis-matched paint job!

Interior Styling: standard interior

ICE and Security: pioneer head-unit (will get model asap) and a lovely little old vibe sub!

Picked the car up about a month ago! managed to get it for £350, it had 106k on the clock. interior is immaculate!

The badges are sprayed Satin brown.. the reason? it was the only spray can i had in my garage when i got the car!

I picked up a set of VW Zolders off here for the pricey sum of £20! they needs a bit of work and some tires but ill get this done over the next month!

not sure if i should stick them on as soon as I've done them or wait until after winter.

I've decided..possibly to some disgust from other to go with a chocolate orange colour theme! Orange centres with the insides of the spoke bits brown. and centre caps brown with raised bit orange!

now time for a few pictures! (Pics from when i first got it home! - updated ones tonight)

nice, looks a smart little bready. :D

With the wheels just make sure they're prepped well and they get lots of coats of laquer. Did that to mine and put them on a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck with it 8-)

Mat.

Quick update..

wheels are now stripped. just need priming, painting lacquer etc.. then some rubber!

rub strips have been removed on the side, to reveal a nice mis-matched paint job!

I've moved the plate for now to on the dash, makes the car look better for now. and its staying untill i get pulled and told to move it.

also hit a pigeon and it bent my bloody aerial!

Just a little update!

havn't done much recently as I've been away at uni!

back for Christmas now go have access to tools to get things done!

Stripped the rear bench and given underneath a good hoover and wash, fitted some aero wipers to the front

Got pulled for having plate in the windscreen so i've cable tided it where it is for now... not sure if i like it there or not. might just stick it where it should be!

de-wipered and lowered hopefully in the next week! but depending on if it snows any more!

a hell of a lot of travelling, leaving uni in winchester and moving to sheffield for a full time job is meaning i just havnt got the time to keep it looking as i want it.

but on the plus side, now i have a full time job and I'm not a poor student means that come spring hopefully somethings will change!

Show it the attention it deserves

new update!!

this is the current state of affairs...

165097_497329076242_514516242_6250570_62

water pump's buggered! fortunately spotted it early so no further damage!

Poor little polo!

  • Author

Latest update.

Car went into the garage for new water pump and cam belt.

apparently the bottom end is shagged. will be near £800 to fix. money i haven't got.

and also not sure its worth it.

so poor little polo will be going to the scrapyard in the sky!

Iv got a bottom end you can have for free, get someone on here local to drop it in for £50,

Very silly thing to do to be honest, just because someone has told you the bottom end is shagged.

I will give you £50 more than the price your offered for scrapping it if your adamant about it.

M

any chance your going to break it?

In need of a drivers door in exactly that colour.

  • Author

problem is max that its down in hampshire, and i move to sheffield tomorrow!

i dont have the money, time or space to keep it and break it, or any way of transporting it home to fix.

id love to but its just not practical at the current time in my life.

if anyone wants the contact details for the garage its at, i can give them to you

he's waiting for me to send the v5 so he can scrap it.

cymro - the drivers door is the worst part of the car! its slightly bent where someone's tried to break in and covered in rust patches. - just being honest, i wouldnt take your money for it.

Edited by adam_f

Its a shame its all the way down there or I would have it back off you. It was a great little car!

  • Author

it was great for me!

i just cant justify spending over £800 on it!

when i've just moved into a new place etc.

believe me , if i had the time and money id still have it!

Thats unfortunate, see if anyone on here will take it off your hands?
