Tiny update.

I really haven’t been able to do much recently with all the weather , work and other commitments.

Mate helped my drop the front.

Got the new super4 spark plugs in which made it tick over really nice.

This car was sold as spares and and repairs, I noticed the throttle body had been replaced , they where crafty and said it hadn’t been looked at.

After changing the spark plugs it only idled funny rarely , Found out a HT lead is broken so I'm glad that’s been found , i assume its that.

soo... The fronts been dropped , the hid kit is in place , rub strips are off (glues still on) badges are off and wipers off , bumpers half off

Just need to take the rear bumper off and take the rear pipe off from the exhaust then i can whack the backbox on (maybe buying a front to back system insted.)

Will get some interior shots of the new switches and lights soon ;)

Few pics:

You can see the issues with this side of the car now :/

sooo.... its looking pretty standered at the moment

As soon as i have my grubby hands on a air compressor i can start pulling the bodywork about and getting it all put right. Start spraying and getting on with it all!!

hey dude was just wondering if you had fixed your passenger window mine doesnt work and wondered if you sorted it saw it on your to do list

Surely that must rub? What size tyres you running buddy?

Looks great :D definately looking loads better, silver isnt a common colour for 6n's either, makes it that little bit more special

I haven't taken the door card off yet , I've noticed my window frame has been bent slightly - some ones tried to get in with a screwdriver. I'm going to bend it back , put the rubber back into place and test it. failing that i'll rip the door card off and have a look and let you know.

haven't turnt it around since I've done the front , although i know it will rub bad as my old 6n 8v with steelies did , I'm planning on new wheels , i'll let you know what the tires are tomorow its too dark and cold to go out there now, plus I'm not dressed ;)

Wanted some 13 minis on there but that wont fit over the disk , which reminds me need to order some grooved dicks as the ones on thier at the moment are done

Sweet , Thats kinda swayed me to respraying it back to what it is when the bodys sorted. Was going red or orange , will be easier silver but i dont know what other colour to go with. i was thinking red with white wheels ect but silver?

I'd keep the silver, it's easy to keep clean too. Maybe green? Dont know if youve seen that white 6n with a g40 engine in it and a stickered wing, but that looks the sex. Could deifnatly work well, something rather different!

yeah i have , looks really nice what the previous owner done to that! i really liked that.

I'm thinking now of really glossy but with flecks.

I've seen some flecks which look pearlescent sort of thing , so it can be silver but the light i think refracts off the flecks differently, Having a VERY lights coat of very fine flecks might look nice

Dont think ill be going the same silver as it is now though :disgust:

Will be interested to see how the paint turns out!

It's already the best colour, Satin silver ;)

I've always loved the blueness it sometimes has.

Wheels + tires

Front coilies are all the way down

Standard 16v alloys wrapped in 185 / 55R14 80H

Just turnt it around , alot less scrub then what my old one had. there is scrub but not much at all, I'm confused should have been bad!

- Ignore the PVC near the splitter thats just off cuts from the house roof

Hey mate to get the rear bumper off there are two hex screws under the rear arch lining on either side you undo, then a bolt in the middle straight down from the plate lights really awkward to get to then you open the boot and theres four large hex screws next to the plate lights

Looking good mate nice progress and an absolute bargain! Ebay??

Ahh thanks for that , when its a bit wamer i will give it ago , Bumpers cracked and nasty might plastic weld / repair and maybe use it to mount a plate as i have a spare one i have already repaired and primered.

handy that i brought 16v bumpers for the old 8v i can swap and have a set to play with

yeah was an ebay , 500 clasified add.

1 offer on it , so i emailed them and said id give them 500 if they delivered. Deal done money sent.

week or two later i rang them up and said ill just collect so i had my mum drive it back and i drove my 9n back

I think its worth about 500 tbh

body work is a tad nasty , better then my old one id say but has tiny spots of rust which isnt an issue to sort. Interior is nice and clean though

In the mean time i have been looking at alloys , But think ats cups will be the way forward.

Got my eye on an air compressor and I've been offered a gas welder.

This came today from Jay_T_08 , Cheers

Cleaned the head a but more today , also looked at silicon hoses.

Got anoied and WD40'd my window and bent the screwdriver mark in and the window opens and closes alot better now :D

As we now have a hobby craft in basingstoke , i'll be getting some material to do the pillars soon, as the final decision to put the car back to silver was made.

But once again , i cant really start it all untill its all sprayed , I just need that air compressor
