Hi there everyone, Just having a few wierd problems with my mk2 polo, My polo has its orginal panasonic radio cassette, (unfortunatley has poor sound quality) to try and keep the car retro and original i brought a 7 band graphic equilizer from 1982, it had been barely used and in full workin condition ect ect.......... any way i wired it in 100% correctley (i checked severeal times to see if i had done). For some reason when it was wired in the left hand side parking lights became stuck on, i checked everything one more time and all was okay, i disconnected the equilizer and the parking light turned off.........?? I re wired it in and used it for a 20 mile journey, when i parked up some of the lights on the dash maulfuntioned and were flickering ect? Does anyone know that could be going on here or could anyone recomend anything?

I don't know specifics for your model but it sounds like you have a short between the dash illumination circuit and a positive feed (which would also affect parking lights if they share the same circuit). Could you have trapped any wires when you did your install?

Thanks for you reply, I do know that my polo is wired up incorrectly anyway, some reason the rear wiper is on the same fuse as the front one and if i try to use the rear wiper it blows the fuse!! Do you know if i could wire the graphic equilizer from a different circuit? Or is there anything else i could try to stop this from happening? Oh juat so you know its a '89 polo fox, dunno if different models were wired up diferently or not?
