Top of tyre under the arch - try the search theres millions on this....

Pretty much a grey area. I've read it's legal I've read it's not. I've read that you're allowed 30mm to stick out or that as long as the tread is under the arch it's fine.

There's a few examples of vehicles that come from the factory with this and are legal. For example, road legal quads, caterhams, westfields which pretty much motorbike fenders for arches.

I work in a garage and I've asked 4 different MOT testers, 3 of which would pass it and 1 wouldn't. There's nothing in the MOT testers handbook that covers it in any depth.

However, coming from a policeman: looking at it in the eyes of the law - if your wheels are sticking out quite alot then it could be labelled as a hazard because it would be easier to hurt someone or pick up a stone/grit in the tire and have it launched etc etc. (it may sound silly but that's the law)

As above, use the search engine , this has been discussed loads of times.

thoguht it would have but I'm lazy :p

and so as grey as pressed metal plates? lol

nothing in the mot handbook says there illegal either!

police say they are because my show plates dont have a bsn (i think) stamp

they gave me a little bit of paper to say that these plates are mot legal :p gets me out of any fines lol

but ill read look around the forum about it, gets abit tedious looking through hundreds of posts :p

cheers

Gets a bit tedious replying to the same questions every other week too....

Yup, you want the help. The least you could do is help yourself.

why are people so rude on here!

why are people so rude on here!

Well, I can't speak for everyone but I'm rude for the following reasons:-

1) I spend my life doing a job I hate in order to finance drunk nights which are inevitably followed by days of feeling shite, then more work.

2) I'm naturally overly blunt and usually quite arrogant

3) I spend time answering questions (in effect adding them to the database of knowledge on here) and people won't even spend ten minutes looking for the answer.

4) I find it quite funny how upset people (southerners in particular) get when they find themselves on the end of a sarcy comment, where I'm from entire conversations are constructed from such comments, nobody cries though, they're only words!

5) And finally, when on clubpolo... Do as the clubpolo(ans?) do!

word, greek god lover :p

Worst thing is the guy actually apologised in his initial post if there were any threads already answering it and he still got shit for it.

If you don't want to help him, then don't reply.

It's not like it's your duty as a member of clubpolo to respond to every single thread. End of the day, whether you reply or not, the thread is still going to be there, and they will keep cropping up because people do not use the search function, but instead of being so harsh, simply move onto something you do want to read.

80% of the people on this forum should go on Jeremy Kyle....

All yas do is bitch!
