Yay, its what i thought it was, and it looks even better than i expected!

Couple of quick questions as I'm intrigued: Firstly, what is it made of? Some kind of plastic? Secondly, what makes work 'properly'? Is it simply that it projects from the bumper creating some downforce, while providing a smoother flow under the car? Or have you had to calculate mounting angles, the correct thickness of material, and other airflow related issues?

I majorly like this!

Always liked this car, now it seems to be it's best ever version of!

any pics of the car with the spacers on?

ahhh there are a few things you can make it out but not saying what mine is made of :) it needs to be mega strong thow, fairly heat resistant but you do need to make sure you get the correct thickness and i did a bit of research to make sure it would actually make a diffrence,

they create downforce by causing the pressure to drop. This, combined with the high pressure over the splitter creates downforce. The larger the area of the splitter, the more downforce is generated

Haha no worries i can do my own research into it if i ever make one, have had the same idea for a few months but stuck abroad with no car so i won't be making anything like that for a while! I guess if its rigid enough and designed/mounted properly it will also go some way towards bracing the front end of the car?

And thanks for explaining the downforce concept too, I've just written about 4K words in french in the last 12 hours so my brains a little fired, too spangled to hit the wikipedia button haha. Good luck with this beast anyways, if you're ever up barneys way when I'm back i'd love to have a quick ride out in it! What a weapon hahaha.

if you have them money id say us carbon fiber but i priced it up and would cost over £200... No it wont brace up the front end unless you maby make a frame up and fix it to the legs or somthing along that line....

yer anytime buddy, let me no when your back I'm up for blast :)

Gutted, the front end won't be sprayed or mapped for pod but hay never mind

Cool, iv planned this almost since I got the car.. I think you will have alot of fun putting the 2.2 I'n plus of you turbo it I carnt see you havin any traction...

I'll tell you what let's have some healthy compitation lets see who dose it first ;) Iv had a fair bit of practice with engine conversions and custom fabrication...,

The game is on :D what do you say??

i say I'm screwed as i dont even have the money for it yet :(

Nice job on the splitter, one thing it doesn't look like you've considered though is oil temps.....

this is cool as fuck in the flesh! can be heard from miles around aha, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Haha thanks buddy....

Oil temps don't rise much more but that's what an oil coolers for to bring them back down

Didn't realise you were running an oil cooler, that's fair enough then! I wouldn't want to run a splitter like that without one

Looks cool man. You'll have to take me for another blast sometime. Is it sat nice and solid? Any noise or rattles from it?

Your bumper looks like second hand toilet roll. Give it a wash!!

I will do buddy, no rattles or noises iv bolted it up on my own brackets to stop that....

Iv just order a 51mm throttle body, fitted a GT inlet manifold so next I's map and injectors and the lightened fly wheel with a paddle clutch and LSD....

The bumper is I'n primer as I'm having it all sprayed soon but it's like that from fitting the splitter...

Here are a few pics from pod

My best time was a 15.7 that's on the safe Map too with about 2-3psi of belt slip so not bad I don't think

Once its finished we are thinking low 14s, high 13s with the LSD
