Been trying to lower the back on my 6n2 more but it seems it just doesn't want to go down anymore? There's about 8 or 9 threads left but when the nuts are wound down to the bottom it stays where it is now but just has a lot of bounce?

Please help I want to be lower at the back. Will try and get some pics up later

Which ones are the helper springs? I haven't taken out any springs from the front but that goes as low as I want.

I thought maybe it because the weight of the engine makes the front drop more and there's no real weight in the back so therefore won't drop as much?

You'll have the main spring on the rear along with a helper spring, the main spring being the bigger one of the two, the smaller is the smaller one, you can take the helper out, will make you lower.

Just wondering and possibly callum also... but whats the purpose of the helper spring? and what are you sacrificing by removing it?

Is it a quick and easy job to take the helper spring out? I've had a look at some pics of jom coilovers and is it the smaller/thinner spring at the bottom? I would go out and look on my car but its too cold lol

Yes,

It's the thinner weaker spring at the bottom, It's purpose is to soften the shock.

literally you'll have to take the entire shock off, take it apart, take the spring out and rebuild it. You'll have to set the height again though as the entire set up will be stiffer.

I took mine out not too long ago, it's stiffer but more bouncy, especially over harsh bumps or ruts in the road, if you get a large section of sunken road your car will want to take off.

BUT... your car should lower if you lower the thread. I'd take a guess at your car is sitting on the bump stops.

The idea of a helper spring is just to hold the main spring in place when the car is jacked up. When on the floor there is no purpose as it will be completly compressed.

I had a quick look at it today and it looked like it was one full solid spring? Does anyone know if JOM coilovers has the helper springs?

Yeah JOMs have helpers on the back but not front, I would know as I'm running them

Yeah it does look like one spring, its is two tho with a thin locater between them. Easiest thing would be to jack up the car and take the wheel off and have a look when its not to cold.

Just seen the blue thin adjuster in the middle of the two springs. Glad I've seen it, getting some new wheels at the weekend so will see what it looks like on them and if its still not low enough then them helper springs are coming out lol
