I had this planned for mine, but got told that the gutters are the seam between the roof skin and the body?

somone did it to ther mk3. was blue with gloss black bumpers. ill see if i can find it

the same could be said for any other mod (well apart from the it holds the roof on bit), you don't just chop them off so that nothing is holding the roof on you know. you replace it with weld, which is all that's holding the roof to the body any way.

I think it only works from a aesthetic point of view if the rest of the car has been smoothed quite a lot. Just looks a bit weird to me on that blue one. There was a grey mk3 at Edition a few years ago that just about pulled it off. Certainly nothing wrong with it from a structural point of view as long as it is welded up. It'll need someone who is a fairly decent welder so as not to warp the roof like mad.

Are you sure it was a g40, 17" wheels on a g40? didnt think that was possible?

i've got an old cgti rabbit magazine thats got the red G40 with mk4 headlights featured,looks very strange!

i knew there would be work involved in doing it, just wonder weather it really looked good or not, i like and so therfore I'm gonna do it when i get the car sprayed. thanks for the help lads
