Hi all,

I've got a W reg 1.0mpi polo which I want to drop something bigger into!

I'm currently too poor to afford a new car and so was wondering if there's any engine I can drop into mine which wouldn't need much work and would drop straight in, My cousin would be able to put the engine into the car so I won't have no fitting costs :-) apart from buying him a pint or two.

So far I haven't done much to the car, I've just bought a pair of alloys to fit and have a Raceland back box and mid section, waiting for some money to buy a sports cat and manifold lol times are hard!

Any advice would be great thanks!

Anyone? :(

drop a 1.4 16v or a 1.6 16v into it.

Best bet with these things is to get a donor car though.

beat me too it...my exact comment lol

most important part is the donor car!!! if you have problems, having the spare car will prove invaluable

How much work is involved in these engines? Is there anything sepcific to the engine that would need a bit of work like wiring etc. or is the main coversion just uprated brakes etc. Bidding for a set of coilovers atm trying to get to handle well atm I have to lean into corners haha

hahaha pretty sure you dont have to lean into corners really lol ;D

it depends to be honest...do a bit of research, the wiring might be the same, though i would think the GTI would be different, but with a donor car it wouldnt matter as you would have all the parts available ;D

Haha Believe me I do! I'll have to start posting some pictures soon! every piece of work I've done so far on the car has proved hell! where it is a 1.0 it makes mods hard, I took the exhaust of a 1.6gti (its a raceland exhaust) The cat pipe was so small I had to cut a section off my old exhaust to use as a downsize pipe to fit to the cat and weld it aswell! And the car dosen't sound louder on the uptake only as your coming down through the revs! I'm ranting lol but cant wait to get sports cat and new manifold!

Yeah will have to get down the breakers!
