Does anyone have a .jpeg layout for the fuse panel for 2002 1.2 polo or know where I can get one?

The rear wiper has stopped working & I need to check the fuse first, but have no idea which fuse it is?

No card in service book, so cannot identify the fuse.

It may be the motor, I can hear the washer motor running but no water is sprayed & wiper doesn't move?

So I wonder if this may be linked?

The fuse layout should be on the inside of the plastic panel that you take off to get to the fuses along with a tool fo taking the fuses out.

The washer motor and wiper motor are not directly connected. Does the wiper work when switched on on its own or is the problem just when using wash wipe?

If the fuse is OK check connections in the tailgate area for the wiper motor. Also try gently moving the wiper from its rest position by a few degrees - does it do a sweep when you do this and then switch it on?

As for no water in the rear wash, try a really long go or several long goes on the rear washer, sometimes takes a while for water to flow, also check for signs of leakage or loose connectors under the bonnet and inside the car and no blockage in the washer jet.

There's no info on the inside of the panel, just a couple of catches & the spigot for holding the fuse removal tool.

I believe that there is meant to be a card showing the fuse positions, but it's not in the manual.

The wiper doesn't work when switched on, on it's own.

I have tried to move it, it is part way up the screen, but nothing happens.

I have read that it might be a relay? Do you know where these are?

There is no relay as such, the rear wipers are controlled by the "onboard supply unit" it's mounted behind the 16 pin EOBD socket

I have a similar problem, i suspect the relay is at fault. Could someone tell me where they are located?

Looking at that diagram, I'd say you need to remove the trim from the boot lid, and get to the wiring plug of the rear motor with a multimeter.

When you pull the wiring plug off the motor, there will be 4 wires going into it...

- Brown is earth

- Green & Purple is a positive feed to initiate the motor linked to the wash/wipe cycle (it will stay positive until the motor has done (eg) 4 wipes)

- Green & White is a positive feed to initiate the motor based on switching the stalk to on (it will flash positive at the usual interval, making the motor turn, say, every 10 seconds)

- Black is a fused positive feed, so positive as long as the ignition is on

Multimeter ready, and check the brown for an earth, and the other 3 for a positive feed (with the ignition on & someone operating the wiper stalk).

If the wires are showing the right currents/earth, it's the motor - and it won't be the first rear wiper motor to fail on a Polo 9N.

If there's no current (or earth) from the wires, in particular the black positive wire or the earth, start looking at the fuse or a break in the wire (in the rubber tube between the hatch and the roof).

If there's no sign of life in either of the green-striped wires, it's probably the wiper control unit, under the dash as described above. It could also be a break in the wires at the above location, but all wires are unlikely to be frayed.

Lastly, Li on the colour charts means Lila, the German for Purple, not Lilac! Haynes manuals are good, but not at translations!!!
