Tonight, I went to go do some shopping, ended up turning back and saying to the parents "That weather's terrible and the car's really bad in the snow, i'll not be risking that again tonight!"

So... little bro phones up for a lift home from his course he's been doing... parents were supposed to pick him up, I ended up being talked into it as my car's newer and has more space etc.

Anyways, picked little bro up (13 miles in terrible weather) passed numerous crashes on the way, stopped at a light to turn right, pulled away by simply lifting the clutch slowly (not even applying any revs as the road is that bad) lost all traction, car gained momentum and this happened.

3 and a half hours later...

I'd actually be less pissed off if i'd been driving like a dick, had bald tyres or did something that was my fault! I keep running it over and over in my head and there's nothing I could've done, there were 3 more crashes exactly the same going off tyre marks!

ouch tbf driving on an inch of snow, is probably harder than driving in 5 or 6 inches of the stuff, as its got far less grip and goes slushy quickly. doubt the wide tyres on your modern will have helped either.

I've had a few mishaps in frost/ice haven't driven in bad snow yet.

its just crap that theres nothing you can really do just let it slide to a stop in ice/snow

Went up a curb and glanced a bollard, didn't even scuff the bollard it was that slow. On my other pics of the scene you can see evidence of 3 other accidents on the same junction since the last snowfall!! Nothing had been gritted... Just where does my road tax and £50 a month company car tax go? I wouldn't mind if it went Towards keeping us all safe... It's a joke

it'd just had new tyres all round... unfortunately it was just one of those freak accidents purely down to the conditions.

I now have a nice little corsa to drive around in... yay!

World of differance between winter tyres and new all season tyres though dude.
