2000 (W) Silver 6n2 1.0L 70k (Non-Runner)

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My engine decided to play up this morning, and now has a hole in it.... not so good.

Rather than replace the engine I am going to cut my losses and buy a new car. I haven't got the time (or space) to break it, so would anyone be interested in buying this for parts/as a project?

Apologies to the mods for no price, but I'm not sure what this should go for so suggestions welcome.

I can get pics up at some point tomorrow if there's any interest.

Please let me know if anyone would like any further details.

Cheers,

Jackamus

I was looking at selling it recently and was going to list for £1500 ONO.... so no idea what it's worth in its current state as a non-runner.

Feel free to offer, I'll listen to all offers.

A few points about the car:

- Approx 70k miles

- New Battery at the end of last year

- New Dipped Headlight bulbs 6 days ago (annoying!)

- Last service April 2010

- MOTd April 2010 (No Advisories)

- New front springs in April

If anyone needs any more information please let me know.

Hi Llewellyn,

All i know is that the engine started making a horrible grinding noise while I was driving down the motorway, I stopped (managed to get to work) and looked under the bonnet and the Engine bay was completely covered in oil. Had to call out the RAC to take a look, and the engineer said that the engine had blown and it was going to need a replacement....

I was going to be selling the car soon anyway, so would rather sell it on and have someone replace the block and enjoy the car as I loved it while it was alive, but don't have the time to source and fit a replacement engine at the mo.

Mechanical inspection is welcome by anyone that wants it.

Humbaz, I didn't mean £1500 in its current state - that was going to be the price before the engine problems.

The rest of the car is in great nick, it's a real shame.

Jackamus

Oh, fair play my bad. GLWS!

what would it be worth with out an engine then?

I'll start the bid at say 300.00? :-)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the offers :) Feel free to keep them coming.

Have done some rough sums....

I was thinking £1500 before the problems, so minus £700ish for the engine, and some wedge for the inconvenience...

So I guess if it starts with a 5xx I'm happy!

Does that sound unreasonable? (obviously willing to listen to feedback)

Cheers All,

Jackamus

whats engine code?

i doubt its worth 500 quid as there's alot of hassle changin the engine to save a measly couple 000 quid

I'm interested as might ave engine for this depenin on code

thanks

I wouldn't sell to cream2cream hes a real live cock end.

swapping an engine isnt hard if you know what you are doing. I'm a level 3 vehicle technician and its rather easy really.

Sorry for the delay in replying chaps, haven't managed to get the Engine Code yet as I've been away from the vehicle, but will be able to get it on Monday.

Still unsold as I haven't got it listed anywhere else.... Would rather sell it here where someone will make good use of it!

Will update with the Engine Code ASAP.

Any more questions let me know,

Cheers,

Jackamus
