theres no such thing as cheap insurance when your 17 :-(

a 1 litre with no mods should be cheapest but try adding your parents/friends that have a long and good (no points) driving history and try all levels of cover as tpft or fully comp may cheaper than tp

mods and insurance dont go together, also keeping it unmodded will make more insurers want to insure you so you will have a better chance of getting a good deal

That is a massive cost. Try all the comparison sites you can think of. Phone a few up that aren't on these sites. You should be able to get it down, sometimes insurance companies target new drivers, it will never be cheap but should be much cheaper than what you have seemed to be quoted so far. Try Budget Insurance, I'm currently with them and they were my cheapest quote last time. Happy so far.

This is a common problem now, I drive a 1.0 polo in my own name third party fire and theft and it cost me 391 a month! The insurance would not let me go through my parents as that's 'fronting' and wouldn't even let me add my parents to the insurance! Basically insurance companies rape young drivers... I'm 18 btw.

Try Admiral mate, i'm 18 with 1 years NCB insured on a 1.0 6n with alloys and coilovers declared for £1193 TPFT :-)

do yourself, then add your mum / dad and it will whack it down

I'm 2,300 the year but thats paying monthly, works out £200 a month

and thats delcared all mods and my £6,500 accident

just 19 :)

try autotrader compare, got the cheapest quotes I've seen anywhere, got £2100 as 18 with no driving experience on a 1.4 6n, fully comp was cheaper than both tpft and tp. I've also heard aviva are good and they have a 20% online discount. i added my dad as a named driver too

i'm at the same point as you mate, i'm looking at getting a 1.4 6n and cheapest online is 3800 with ecar, it goes up when i add my parents which is ridiculous, when your 17 it is completly ridiculous prices the miute you turn 18 and get 1 years ncb it drops dramatically my mates tell me, try differeent combos, with family, without family, and if you have a garage or some form of lockable parking bay say on it that you are storing it in a locked garage, should drop it as well.

Lie through your teeth, dont crash.

its fronting if the car is in your name, so put it in your parents :)
