hey all, had this car a little while now, was an offer i couldnt refuse for some vintage vw!

shes a 1.3 5 speed

i bought it standard, not a whole lot has changed...

lowered

de-bump stripped,mudflapped,some badges

caddy mk1 steelies + falken tyres

badges 'blacked'

side exit zorst

alpine ipod cd player

full service

and now its actually a shade of red!when i bought it she was that horrible chalkboard light brown (never been polished!)

decided to sort the rear ds quarter out with some airbrushing, looked really good but has since had to be re done, hence the current pics of mess in that area! ill post some more pics when its finished...

thats about as far as i want to take her really...need some new shocks as the standard ones are bottoming out everywhere, not good! also just bought some new dash speakers as the old ones have turned to dust!

probably some stuff I've forgotten, but heres some pics anyway.... also may be looking to sell/px/swap in the near future, what kinda price do u think i can expect 6months t+t inc.

Love the look of that, looks nice and standard. What size are them tyres? Can see there 175 but cant see the profile.

Are the steelies 5.5" J wide?

I would recommend a nice spray job on them, keep them silver though, maybe white?

Is that 'classic red'? my 1st mk3 was that colour, you dont see many!

Thanks MaxMax - the tyres are 175/60 r13. not too sure on the width, either 5 or 5.5. the wheels have been painted :p done it myself, i thing theyve come up ok, they were a state when i got them! ideally would have like to get them blasted but i endured with a die grinder and wire wheel and several layers od paint, i think they look ok! i was going for the silver and black look, but I'm wondering whether or not to source some centre caps??

popdragin- no idea what colour it is, where can i find out?

I think centre caps would look great! get some from a 6n (mk4 polo)

i think centre caps would look pretty cool too, but I'm happy as it is...i'll leave that option to the next owner. if i was keeping it long term i'd also like some rear wheel spacers and germ plates but cant justify the spendature atm! its only supposed to be my daily i have another project to finish!!

ta for the compliments guys not sure how much its lowered by as was 2nd hand kit off a mate, but I'm guessing around 80mm? if someone could tell me the arch height of a standard 1 I'm sure i could work it out. as it was supposed to just be a cheap daily i thought i'd get away with springs only, but nope! shortened front shocks needed fo sho!

the rear quarter is being airbrushed soon, so I'm looking for some ideas...originally went for old school/psychadelic and this is what the artist came up with..

but unfortunately due to floors in the paint/temp/weather conditions, I've stripped it off and its going to be re-done...so ideas... i'd quite like the vw logo in there, and i really like the flowers he put on it before...let me know guys!

what about floral design with vw badge incorporated, look at some of the floral tattoo designs, wudnt be my taste but may suit the look you are after
