First car - Polo 6n2 *New Wheels*

Featured Replies

Polo 6n2 1.0 litre

Pretty much standard apart from the wheels and headunit.

So me and Dad picked it up beginning of October 2010, whilst it looked like this,

Then as i was pretty skint considering I'm only 16, I just went around finding little bits and bobs that i didnt like and set a task of changing.

1st was the horrific aerial, got a stumpy one off ebay for a couple quid,

After that i had to change the wheels. They werent in a very good state, especially the driver front. Corroded lip, and generally manky. So i picked up a set of standard steelies off another 6N2,

Had them sprayed white as i wasnt keen on them being black,

Got them fitted up,

Looking like a 4x4 ;)

Now whilst i was waiting for my Coilovers to be delivered, i had a random moment and sprayed the front badge matt black,

I liked it, so i stuck with it. And gave the engine bay a little clean aswell,

1.0 Power ;)

Then the coilies arrived, only cheap ones, but they do the job :)

Which made it look 10x better. Still needs a bit tweeking, Front needs dropping quite a bit more. Rears should be fine as I'm planning on dropping a big twin 12" sub into it very soon.

So this is how its looking at this very moment in time,

Like i said up there ^ Somewhere. I am still 16, 17 in february so the mods are very limited at the moment. And will probably be only little updates from now on, apart from the ICE install soonish. Got a few plans up my sleeve such as spacers all around, or maybe even some G60 steels as the 13's arn't as nice as i hoped

Thats all for now, any comments welcome :)

Cheers, James.

You're doing well for a 16 year old!

I think you should refurb those alloys and put them back on

Mmmm, I was considering it, but i wanted it to look standardish, with a twist. Still got 2 months to mess about with it though :)

I'm sure in 2 months the front coils will get wound lower! Also a fresh set of non dealer ship number plates always make a car look a hell of a lot fresher

Nice one mate, nothing like a bit of monsterous 1.0 :D

And thank you for doing your white steels, wanted to see what a set would look like on mine, gonna have to steal one of you photos and chop the wheels off with your permission

I like the white but looks a bit naff with the wheels being small and the tires big etc but whites a go-er imo!

I also have a 6n2 1l as my first car :} I'd refurb those alloys tbh and maybe a gti grill for the front? Otherwise looking good.

This morning i dropped the fronts down alot, and I'm looking into some UK Legal Pressed plates.

Yeah go for it, i dont mind ahhaa, they need re-spraying tbh. The spray job is shocking. Coilies wont drop low enough to fill the archs if i ran lower profile tyres on 13's. So its staying like that til i get some 14's or 15's :) Cheers for the comment

I'm looking around to see how cheap i can get them refurbed and maybe a new lick of paint. Then sell them on. Not keen on the GTI grill, makes it look like a wannabe fast car, if you see what i mean.

Will edit this in a sec with more lows pictures :)

Getting there, couple more inches should do it ;)

Had a flat this morning so had to wack a steelie on to get to the tire place and looks bad compared to the rzs haha wont be putting them back on..

you could also upgrade to central locking if you haven't already done so. A kit like this should do the job ebay #360323397017

I was actually looking into this the other night, aswell as leccy windows etc. But never really came across anything apart from scabbing the mechanisms from a 6n2 SE model.

I'll check out what you linked me too now :)

Cheers, James.

ye its easy enough todo. How much were your coilovers and where from?
