Continued the cutting and slicing... :)

Was late when I started so I didn't get the time to melt the parts together yet but tomorrow evening these should be in one piece.

If you manage to pull this off its going to look really good and unique. These types of projects aren't to everyones taste but its nice to see something a bit different to the usual mods.

looking good but part of me thinks you should mount the plate recess about 25mm lower

The corners will go all the way down below the trunk floor. Infact it could go up an other 10mm and still look good. Dropping it would make the bumper look "too fat" IMO. The center below the bumper will be filled with either a diffuser of some kind or just a shortened original black apron.

Are you plastic welding with the bumper fitted to the car?

I think the end result will show whether the bumper will suit the car or not, as we can't see that much atm.

Yes, with the bumper on the car I can insure that the parts will match the bodylines when fitted.

we need more, this is fantastic, I can see the rear bumper working very well!!

From the profile picture I'm pretty pleased with the angle on the new part. Hopefully the rain would take a brake tomorrow so I can fit the final parts too tomorrow...

Final parts prefitted. The Golf VI bumper is now narrowed about 6cm on each side of the numberplate.

Wasnt expecting this to look much cop, but hats off, I really like the rear bumper

Turned out about as good as I imagined it in the back of my head when I saw the trashed slightly damaged Golf VI bumper at the local workshop. (You see the repaired "scar" on the lefthand side)

I just got a delay as I cut myself deep in the knee yesterday.. Yes, the knee with my mattknife and now have 4 stiches and cant bend the knee for a few days...

Finally the knee feels a bit better so I could start melting the leftside corner into place. Also rounded off the original bumper some to smooth out the overall appearance of the bumper.
