  • Are you plastic welding with the bumper fitted to the car? I think the end result will show whether the bumper will suit the car or not, as we can't see that much atm.

  • Thank god we have the Polo... At these temperatures the almost new battery died in the wife's almost new Volvo, but with a little persuation from the Polo it started anyways. The Polo rolls daily to w

  • Yes, some times one just have to set the priorities right.. I must stay focused on this now over the winter, hopefully finish it for next season.... :)

Ahhhh no dont use the 6r grill!! The VW logo in the grille is even bigger!!! Just have a plain grille with no vw badge on it. Will look so sweet.

But I'm loving the ideas and your plastic welding is art dude! Awesome stuff

I have a badge fetisch so I'm still going to keep them... :unibrow:

Skoda do a valence for the new Fabia that looks a lot like the A4 bumper. Had it on my old car. Looks like it's going to bea good project though. Given me some ideas for my two tho!

Now the parts are falling to places... Still waiting for an other 6n donor bumper to use as the frame to build from. This way I can keep the original front untouched as long as possible due to using the Polo daily... :paranoid:

Finally today I got myself around to start this...

First some cutting...

Then the repairpanel got some cutting...

Finally some welding...

Now the leftside is done and just needs to be finished. The final result was that the wheelarch is now 10mm wider than the one on the right side. That will be fixed tomorrow... :unibrow:

That's something on mine I need to do to mine...new back arches, mine are shocking.

Strong work though brother.

  • Author

Not as shocking as mine though I guess?

Yours look perfect if you ask me!

This thread just got CTRL+D'd because this car is going to look sweet.

The only thing that let's the car done mate.

There pretty awful...want to put new arches on after winter.

good to see some progress my friend.

Looking sweet dude, better get a move on, winter months are quickly approaching and dont want to be left all winter when the snow starts until the snow has defrosted!

I see Rob. Possibly a former repair done badly like on mine? That is anyways the reason I'm doing both even though just one of them was damaged in the accident last winter.

Needed to get the wheelwells watertight again before the winter to prevent the roadsalt from penetrating the inner constuctions....

Seems like I will not be able to finish the other side until later today or possibly tomorrow.. The wife had to go to work and I'm home taking car of the kids.... :|

The front bumper work will start ASAP too though but most of the work will be done off the car keeping the front stock over the winter.

Bored sitting at home with the kids and the once again fantastic paint editing...

Think I'll stick with the original concept of 9n3 style grille but with the addition of Audi bumper parts... :unibrow::nod:

PoloWhiteEditionA4c.jpg

Your correct, the last owner had new arches fitted...badly.

Only solution if what your doing.

The front looks sweet with the Audi/9n3 combo.

Didn't get more done today than some plaster(?) on the wheelarch and first cuts in the frontmodification... :)

Also jost crappy mobilephone photos as the camera was at home...

The 9n3 front will go under quite advanced surgery as it is much wider than the original 6n front. Looks like I also will have to cut the grilles for it.. But nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes some more time. And gives more pleasure when its done... :unibrow::thumbsup:
