defo man! You're already a legend!

Is that a good or a bad thing?:unibrow:

This is looking so good, when its done people will think its a new concept car or something :p

Yes, that is sort of my goal too, to make it all look like it was delivered like this from the factory... ;)

If anyone asks I can say: "It's all OEM parts!"... :unibrow::thumbsup:

Edit:

Oh! Almost forgot some more photos. No visible change from pictures but had to put som more putty on it after the first layer of basecoat... like 2-3 layers in some small spots. Now I'll leave it as is and try to get the topcoat on during the week.

Need to get the car back into use as the Volvo I'm driving to work now is ruining me due to the fuelconsumption compared to the Polo...

  • Are you plastic welding with the bumper fitted to the car? I think the end result will show whether the bumper will suit the car or not, as we can't see that much atm.

  • Thank god we have the Polo... At these temperatures the almost new battery died in the wife's almost new Volvo, but with a little persuation from the Polo it started anyways. The Polo rolls daily to w

Thanks!

I wish... The main goal for now is to get the outside done so it looks OK and get the Polo back into use as I need it again like yesterday... The winter is coming fast now and the wife is going to need her car (that I'm using now to work) because she refuses to take the kids to the daycare on bicycle when the snow arrives... :-D

Had to try to tape the logo temporarily tonight... 8-)

Thank god your putting a logo back on, looks very very smart!

Yes, I will use the Golf IV logo. Makes a big difference IMO.. 8-)

love this...unique is awesome....cutting bumpers to pieces to make custom ones...thats just cool! i like the rear lights, and agree about the VW badge, its a massive section of smoothed nothing without a badge! will look good

I think this will look fantastic if u keep up the quality of work on those bumpers.

Amazing amount of work, thought and dedication gone into this. Hats of to you sir!

That front end looking fucking amazing i can't wait to see it, it looks far better then the newer cars!

Back on the road again! I dont put on the Logo until I get the newly painted areas polished once. The rearbumper is not yet painted either as I had to priorice to finish the bodywork so I can take it back on the road again as the winter is closing and the wife dont want to take the bicycle to work any more.. The work on the bumper also streched as I had to work on a lot of small details to make everything look as factory as possible...

The Arches have to be okay for now, and are 15mm wider than originals..

The dust on the rear door have collected more frost than the rest of the car...

Definitely getting there!

Hows the progress coming along? Its been too long I cant wait :unibrow:

MOAR!!!!!!!

  • Author

Sorry, no major progress on this for now. Had to take it back as dailydriver with the bumper unfinished as the wife refused to continue taking the kids to the daycare and go to work with her bicycle... Strange... The weather is not that bad yet... Just over 10cm of snow and temperatures between zero and -5C...:lol:

Also lost some inspiration for awhile when I (first time so far) got ripped off on eBay... Bid and won what by every means looked like a legit sale of Polo 9n3 GTI grilles.... Lost 150€ on that.... Made me more careful....

So I have concetrated on the other projects some more instead...

Finally got the cylinders and pistons back into the Porsche Super Tractor. Soon putting the heads back on and doing the first teststart of it since the -80's...

Pistons set at 1-1,1mm and ready for the heads:

Also been working on these:

First one restored and second one under work at the moment.

Also started to clean the crankcase for the engine those carbs are for.

The engine goes into this hopefully for the next season.... 8-)

Here with new rearwheels. Previously had 7x15 inch wheels i tne rear but now with 8x16 inch.

I hope you forgive me and have patience! I have not yet given up on the Polo! Just have to priorice the time and projects some during the winter. :)
