Golf G60 calipers

Featured Replies

Have a couple of sets of these, one needs to go. Good upgrade for a valver or other 6ns with valver carriers. May fit others too. Will allow the use of 256mm discs. Will throw in a set of part worn pads too!

Looking for £100

I'm assuming these are the common 'Girling 60' calipers, hence the confusing use of 'G60' and the fact that they are for 256mm discs.

I suppose you should really point out that these are not off any kind of supercharged (G60) car that take 280mm discs. Your price also confuses the matter as £100 is 280mm conversion money - with carriers.

Please don't be so vague, as there are some who will be easily mis-led on here - like myself.

Nope. They are not Girling 60 calipers, and are from a supercharged golf. The ad is right in saying it is for callipers, there is no mention of the carriers, so, they are not for sale

Thank you for looking

No one is being mislead, except for anyone now reading this, with your post all but calling mr a liar. I suggest you read this

Tbh, its a common problem. When i bought them, i made the same assumption, and all but accused the fella selling them of mugging me off. Whoops.

Any how, they are not the same no. Since the calipers are bigger, the bolt holes and everything are completely different. However, i may have a set of carriers to go with them now, since i've changed my braking set up ideas. The carrier bolt spacing, where it bolts to the chassis is around 95mm irrc.

Also have a set of lucas calipers which would be an upgrade to VW11s for sale, but i'm unsure of bolt spacing atm until i get a change to go measure

PM me if interested in either

 at the above. you really dont actually have a clue!

you know what they say about assuming, it makes an ass out of you and me, mainly you in this instance.

'common' as you say, girling 60s are actually infact not common and they are twin-pot calipers, off audi rs2s and similar powered vag cars of that era, they will fit onto the lucas 54 carriers, which can be found with two sets of carrier hub bolt mounting spacings, 76 and 94mm, the former will fit on mk1-3 polos and mk1 golfs.

lucas 54 calipers were found on several vag cars, large single pot calipers which dependant on carriers can take 256mm or 280mm discs of which the latter can be found on g60s

if you dont know your facts, dont try and act like you do.

Could of just asked if they were 54's or 60's u boob.

the carriers for lucas 54 and 60 calipers are NOT the same as VWI or II calipers
