Well after buying the s3 as a second car over winter i quickly fell for the planted feel of 4wd along with acceleration and cornering capabilities. though i was happy with the audi i've never been a massive fan (not sure the yellow helped) of the a3 - i've always been a golf man, soooo sold the s3 at a loss :( and sold some bits i had, saved my wages and have just managed to get enought cash together for this

it's a stock .:R covered 87k, slight blow in the exhaust and i think a wishbone bush is on it's way out, other than that made the 100 odd mile trip home without issue.

i'll be giving it a full health check on a ramp and see how it fairs underneath.

well health check turned into a full blown day of work, fitted H&R coils in the process discovering the topmounts and bearing had crapped out. then one of the drop links had a fair bit of play so changed all of the above.

plugged in the diagnostics and bought up intermittent haldex fault which after some testing seems to be a faulty haldex / clutch - so got hold of a complete rear subframe with diff, control unit shafts hubs and arms. split it down and fitted the diff and cradle.

so car seems to be all well now, need to get some KK top mounts to get a bit lower on the front though. A good friend dropped by and i talked him into giving it a wipe over, got my camera out to get some pics but i only managed one before it died :(

took a couple of daylight pics sunday morning - filthy again

polo topmounts are on order to get another 15mm on the front before the RR posse are on my back, also fitted my 280mm momo team

PSWpolo - yes bud, as i said the coils are max low without helpers so ordered 6n polo topmounts which fit the mk4 platform and give 10 - 15mm extra drop over golf items. may get them on tonight if i have time or tomorrow for sure - i'll get some before and after pics.
