There are many ways to baffle a sump. Asking it a hard maths question might do the trick.

RPM one is shocking- I thought they were decent!! Not cheap either!

The windage tray that Yeha posted (2nd Pic) is a G40 Cup Car tray- they left the sumps stock.

I'm expecting to have to fit a baffled sump when on slicks, as I should be able to push more lateral G than a cup car, but certainly for fast road polos, if the G40 Cup Cars got away without baffles whilst running slicks, then any road going polo should be fine.

the afh valver engine is a bit of a sod for oil surge, especially if you like to keep the oil right up to the top of the mark... if anybody needs a set of baffles for an afh/aee then let me know and i will run off a set again.. although it looks different to the picture above now, i changed the design a bit

it's really tricky to get a decent weld in these steel sumps, they are made of really poor quality steel... this was phase 2 of the prototype i made.. had a few minor design changes since this

Have you moved the pick up more towards the center of the sump?

no, i think that's optical iillusion, the pickup pipe is slightly offset towards the back of the engine.. in that pic the plate is inclined 15 degree forwards to match the angle of the engine when fitted to the car... the latest design looks a lot different to that picture.

i'd be tempted to have those TIG'd in. and that's a new sump isn't it?

yeah i got given a couple of new ones to play with for development work, tig welding would be much better for this, but like i've said it's really difficult to get a decent weld on them
