Hi guys I'm a total novice to all this! i got myself a genesis coupee 1 ltr tidy little motor i give £350 for it with 6 months tnt service history etc, quick question is how i can give her i little more power any hints tips are welcome! I'm not expecting a lot out of a 1ltr engine just a little more than she has! cheers

If your handy with a spanner then swap to a 1.3 head, GT cam, 1.3 SPI unit and manifold and GT exhaust manifold and system. This will see it breathing better. Should cost about £200 if you buy wisely on here. As said there's loads of good advice in the FAQ's and members build threads.

If you are not handy with a spanner have a look at Poloace chips. Clicky

save your money and dont bother, i know its blunt but its only going to be a waste of money. you are never going to make any significant gains which will justify the cost. when a 1.3GT engine costs £250 and will add 2 / 3rds of the horsepower. you only have 45 (less the ponies its lost in its life) and a GT is 75 and which some good mods will see around 90 - its just not worth it

il keep everything in consideration thanks i been looking everywhere for gt engine is it just me or are they like rocking horse poo to get hold of?

right then this is making me feel like a dumbass i have no idea what I'm searching for i found lots of engines for my car but would be appreciated if someone could give me an idea of an engine code or codes that will fit mine or year or anything help!!!!

GT cam/head, and bike carbs, be different and keep it a 1Liltre.

maybe the cheapest option what sort of difference in power will that be? and could you do me a favour and give me shopping list of what is needed lol? :-D

if you wanted to keep it a 1litre i would get.

GT head with cam. £50-80

set of bike carbs with rubbers £60

Ingintion set up £60

Manifold for the bike carbs £80+

probably more things you need, prices will differ too.

Couldnt predict on the power realy. 80bhp?

it would be less work to as you wouldnt need to rip out the bottom half of the block, but i would be looking into replaceing a few thing like the headgasket and bolts, cambelt.

GT head which is part of a 3f engine.

you only need the head realy, no need for the ingnition, manifold ect as your putting carbs on it.

best doing some research before comiting to it all as it can be a bit daunting for a first time mechanic, still confuses me at times

same here I'm good with some stuff but when i never tried anything like bike carbs it makes my bttom nip a little il get the head and go from there cheers lol

The 3f head casting will fit on the AAU bottom end dude.
