Featured Replies

Well i honestly cant afford a super great stainless exhaust so my mate suggested cutting open the standard backbox and removing the padding stuff and the pipe that goes through it, has anyone else done this?

Cant wait for the abuse :ninja:

be easier to just swap a straight section of pipe in no?

prob make it all droany and poo , but then I'm old and tired of lariy exhuasts

You complete and utter pillock, why would you want to do that!!!

Only messing, Yeah i think someone did something simluar on here, said it sounded alright.

If your wanting a louder cheap exhaust then i would reccomend you buy the same size exhaust tube , cut out either your mid or backbox and then weld the new pipe in, thus replacing one of your silencers with a striaght through pipe.

I used to run a second midbox instead of a midbox and a backbox, Sounded good, got a lot of compliments, only cost me about a tenner.

Hmm, see I'm not going to lie....

I've already done it

Just wanted to see if anyone else had, it doesnt sound too bad tbh and pops abit but its obviously not as nice as a full exhaust, i was thinkin of replacing the midbox with pipe but it might be too loud?

Be too loud tbh.

Got any pics?

you can get a straight through middle section off ebay for £40 or you looking for cheaper?

cut your back box off, and use the bend in the rear section of the exhuast to make a side exit.

free. can be loud. but makes a hell of a good noise on a GT.

want it to be louder? wind the passanger side window down!

Heres a few pics of how we did it, basically just cut it open using a grinder and removed as much as we could, more is actually removed than in the pics but i didnt get any pics.

Couldnt take the whole thing out as the grinder wouldnt fit in but still makes an oryt sound :)

Also made the backbox hidden.

How much does the mid section on a exhaust restrict the gas flow? I'm considering fucking the one off from my Ashley set up, but I don't want to make it much louder. If I look down the pipe through the mid box, I can see straight through

mid boxes arnt that restrictive, and offer alot less silencing than the rear box.

Cheers mate :)
