Yes they do share the same water bottle, the washer pump spins one way for the front and the the other for the rear, I don't know if the water pipework is the same, but on my 6N there was a production joint just foreward of the passenger side rear shock mount, it had fallen apart and the fluid was filling up the spare wheel well

yeah quite a few people have said this . make sure the actual hole on the washer isnt blocked with mud and crap , i usually just use a thin needle to unblock it .

make sure the pipe hasnt fallen off in the boot.

Can you hear the pump motoring?

Your either filling the boot lid with water. Or the nozzle is simply blocked

i've got this on my 54 polo as well, fronts work spot on, fluid is filled right up, no leaks in the boot or wheel arches etc, gave the jet a quick poke with a needle and it hasn't done anything, seems like its not even going up the pipe?

Ok thanks guys i will try this when the weather drys up.I've just bought a set of mudflaps aswell from vw so I'm hoping it will look smart.

I've got exactly the same problem with my 9n3, motor goes and i think the fluid is going down in the bottle but nothing comes out.

Tried unblocking the nozzle, still nothing. Even tried tracing back the pipe and i cant even see one going into the boot lid so I'm at a dead end also.

No water in the boot well etc either.

Matt
