Ha that's why I used to have a tow bar on my Polo! No not the really old stuff... I had a 1987 CR250 which I sold at Farliegh VMXdN a few years back, now I have a Jeremy Mcgrath rep 1995 CR125, hoping the SuperEvo stuff takes off soon as I bloody love that bike! My old man has a an 84 CR500 he's restoring, last of the air cooled models.

What sort of Vintage motocross you in to? Do you mean Evo machines or real bikes like BSAs, CZs or Maicos?

I race a 76 Maico 250, and last year I towed it about to the races in my dragon green 6n!

Painted the VW badge black and added the exhaust....bit loud for my liking though so might run the straight through center section to a standard box. Coilies on at the weekend hopefully.

Gearbox noise seems to have cured itself luckily. Started the process of colour coding the handles ,and touched up some stone chips on the wings. My bonnet however is absolutely covered in them, literally hundreds, not really sure what to do? Attempt to rattle can the correct colour, matt black, or buy a new bonnet from the scrappy?

Right, had some goodies in the post yesterday, complete set of strut rubber mounts (£27 posted which I thought was a good deal), so could finally get round to fitting the PhilJ 80/60 lowering kit I have.

Got it up on stands, whipped one shock off, only to find I had the wrong spring seats on my new shocks, so the spring was orientated the wrong way round! Emailed PhilJ and he's sending me the correct ones, but meant I had to put the standards back on :(

Hopefully will be able to try again tomorrow!

Put my 16v rear bumper on today. It isn't the right colour (Dragon Green rather than Bright Green Pearl) but it's close enough for now. :)

Thanks, taking the car to a garage tomorrow to fit my front shocks, as the bolts were rusted tight, I can't be bothered with the hassle. So the front end will be down tomorrow, and I'll fit the rears if its not raining after work! Just treated the rust on nearside sill, ready for some paint over the weekend. Have a bonnet bra to put on too, to prevent any more stone chips.

Next jobs are smooth over the aerial hole (mount is broken and I've never once listened to the radio in 8 years), and sort out some interior bits.

Just picked it up from the garage, this is how it sits at the front now.

Going to fiddle around with the dampening adjusters on the shocks to get a perfect ride.

Lol I'll see what I can do. Might raise the rear a little anyway as there is a bit of reverse rake going on at the moment.

Oh, have picked up some 6n2 gti seats, will put up pics later :)

The patchiness is just where they're damp after a shampoo, the seats are absolutely mint, no wear or stains whatsoever. :)

Plans are now...

Sort out some paint issues....1 arch to repaint and paint over where the rust on my sill was (treated and filled now).

Retrim doorcards in a grey leatherette to match the seats.

Need to spend a day detailing.

Legal pressed plates.

Fix the central locking! Lol

80 on the front and about 70 at the rear. Spring ans shock kit from PhilJ, Rears are the type with 7 heights to put the spring seat so there is a limited amount of adjustability. Fronts are adjustable for dampening, have them set fairly hard at the mo but still give a nice ride quality....barely feels any worse than standard.

Looks a nice set up. I have looked at those kits, albeit not quite as low. Missus would kick my head in I think

Put my standard grill back on with a black badge....much better. Also in the process of painting the front tow eye cover as for some reason it was black!
