Hi all

I have an issue with my ABS on my 2002 Polo 1.4 9N. My ABS light doesn't work, so I got my RossTech VCDS up & running & read the codes, and got one there saying ABS - electrical circuit problem. So I found the fuses on the battery, replaced the fuse strip (which was split for the ABS), and logged back into VCDS, deleted the fault code (it has stayed gone)... but I still have no ABS light (although I have working ABS).

I guess it could be that the previous owner has simply put a screwdriver through the ABS warning LED. In order to check this, how do I get the needles off the various instruments to remove the speedometer sheet?

On an associated note, how easy/tricky is it to replace the instruments completely? Will they need any form of programming, and will I have hassle with the immobiliser? I guess I would need to read the new Immobiliser PIN with VagTacho, then just match the keys again separately. Can anyone confirm?

Well, my ABS works perfectly - the last few days have proven that.

I took the existing cluster apart tonight, was all set to solder a new LED on there, but found a great big lump of Blu Tac that some idiot had jammed in there to hide the ABS light. So as I've repaired the ABS fuse, cleared the error codes, removed a f***off lump of blu tac from there, and now it all works as it should. Some people eh?!
