Used CWN Gearbox For Sale

Featured Replies

**NOW REDUCED TO £100**

I have a CWN Gearbox that has been removed from my 6N Polo for sale.

This has been removed to be replaced with the correct DQW Gearbox, I don't know why a CWN was on it and don't care. The CWN Box was put on under warranty from the dealer the car was baught from, I ran the CWN Box myself for about 4000 miles before I got sick of 30mpg on an AEX 1.4.

Gearbox Code: CWN

Designed to fit: AEV (1043cc 1995 - 2000 Engine)

Full Gearbox Serial: 48CWN25075/1872

ElsaWin Says it will fit one vehicle only: 6N10B4 Polo L233 GKAT5G

This has been professionally removed by myself and a qualified mechanic (on reward of beer) and replaced with the correct DQW gearbox, I had kept this box with mind of having it as spare but I am now sick of the sight of it.

The gearbox functioned correctly when in my vehicle except for a slight crunch on the starter motor each time, this should not be a problem with the gearbox as the starter mounts onto the bell housing to work on the flywheel, I've put this down to the starter not being mounted properly by the mechenics that did this gearbox, this will not have affected the function of the gearbox in my opinion. The gearbox is not currently fitted with the newer type of selector that uses levers, but this can be removed from your old gearbox if it is present. The syncros on each gear were stong enough for my style of driving, mainly motorways miles.

I do not know how many miles this gearbox has done! It was placed on the vehicle under warranty.

Since you'll be having the gearbox off anyway I'll throw in the correct clutch I also have lieing around aswell.

Now scrap yards charge £300 for a gearbox with warranty delivered, I'm looking for half of this, but am open to offers.

Price: £125 open to sensible offers.

I am based in Bolton, near Manchester in North West England. I can deliver this item within a reasonable distance (100 miles from Bolton Railway Station) myself, or pickup can be arranged on weekends. Payment is to be by cheque (must clear before collection), cash, bank transfer or paypal.

NOTE: I have just noticed the clutch inspection hole cover is missing on the top of the bell housing.
