IIRC the official 0-60 time on a mk5 Golf GTI is 7.2 for a manual and 6.9 for DSG

I read a while back that DSG was the only gearbox available on the new Polo GTI anyway, so there's not much choice really

I've seen a properly judged 1/4 mile sprint involving 6MT and DSG Mk5 GTIs, with the manual car pulling a few car lengths by the end, and pulling off the line quicker. The 1st to 2nd shift was noticeably good on the DSG car, it pulled the manual car back in, but then from 3rd onwards the manual pulled away until the finish line.

But yeah, DSG is the only option in the Polo for now. 7 speed too IIRC?

Interesting, DSG versions do tend to make popping noises though, which is cool in my book! Yeah they're 7 speed, revs so low when pootling along.

I always thought a DSG gearbox was a semi automatic, and quicker gear changes because it predicts what your next gear change will be and already has a cog thing waiting on the gear, making the gear change instant ( shit way of explaining it but I have the picture in my head lol) I would think it's the same dsg system that is in the new Audi TT, if it is then it's sick.

Is that a Audi steering wheel in there aswell?

The manual would be quicker in the real world I reckon, aswell as being lighter.
