DVLA Letter - Do you still have the Vehicle?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I received a letter today from the DVLA with the following message:

Vehicle Registration Number: xxxx xxx

A problem has arisen with the records we whold for this vehicle and I would appreciate your help in dealing with this.....

It then asks for the details of the Car such as VIN number, Engine Number, Colour, Model etc.

Does anyone know what this means? Did try to call the DVLA but they're closed due to 'adverse weather conditions...' Really helpful!!

The only thing I can think of is that someone is trying to clone the vehicle?

Any ideas welcome.

Cheers,

Jackamus

And thats all it said? Nothing else?

I'd wait n just ring um. No rush really so wait till after xmas or something.

What's the address they've asked you to reply to?

Don't forget your VIN number is proudly displayed in your windscreen

Personally I'd ring them, on whatever number they show on the website (not the letter!)

Probably innocent, but you never know these days.

i'd be very careful and only contact the dvla directly as thats the kind of information required to clone your car

but it could be innocent as the dvla does make mistakes and will want to correct them. only the dvla can confirm this.
