Well I've been looking for some tyres for when i finish my wheels and I've been told 155/55/14's will fit best, with a tiny bit of stretch.

The wheels are 6.5j so there wont be massive stretch but the tyres I've been looking at are Nangkangs which I've been told are 'japanese ditch finders'

They are only 35 quid each but are they bad/good?

not really a tyre expert but see alot of people who are selling wheels on here have nankangs on them so cant imagine they are terrible. i would go for it if i were you dude.

Depends how you drive. Nankangs are terrible for anything but sensible driving in the dry. Although with 155s on a 6.5J you obviously don't care about driving. You see a lot because they make obscure sizes and are cheap.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Stretching tyres reduces the contact patch... Stretching a 155 is just fucking stupid.

You could do something really crazy and fit standard size 6n tyres to the wheels, 185/55-14s. That would be pretty unique in fact. If you do want an undersize tyre, then you could fit some Federal 165/55s. They are better than Nankangs, and don't usually come out as narrow either, so will be a fair bit less stretch.

stretch on that wheel size. Just no.

The NS2's are alot better than the first ones but they are still budget tyres.

Fine in the dry, pretty scary at times in the wet. To be honest you might not even notice a difference having not been driving for long

Ok i guess no stretch then I'm just going off what I've been told.

i put a 155/55/14 nankang on a 6j never managed to find any ditches with them and I'm running nankangs as winter tyres too sure they spin up but they r only 165's on my audi's do what u think is best and what u think looks good, f*ck what other pple think

To be fair mate he said stretching a 155 is stupid, he didn't call you personally stupid, and you say in the quote that you haven't got the tyres yet anyway, so why take offence to someone's opinion on a subject that you asked for..?

That's the problem with this forum, nothing against you mate, it just seems that all people do is moan about this forum and how everyone is an arsehole to them and them alone, because they openly asked for opinions, then got ones they didn't want to hear..

Best for handling, I'd go for 195/45, Falken and Toyo sell them at reasonable prices.. They'll be low profile and give you a good contact patch..

If for some reason you want stretch then those Nankangs are probably what you're after.

I found that Uniroyal Rainsport 195/45/14's looked really nice on my RZ's (14*6.5)... nice and low profile, good width for grip/handling... thats my opinion!

You weren't, but if you ask for opinions, people will tend to say what they're thinking in the way they're thinking it.

Personally, I wouldn't have a polo mk2/3 polo with any less than a 165 on. The front suspension's really primitive, so every bit of extra grip you can get's a good thing.

want stretch, buy wheels that warrant stretch, eg 8 inches plus

185/50 will look good if the car is low enough

Most likely too large in diameter and will rub a lot on a lowered car
