I have a 6n 3 door, and a friend of mine has the same seats as mine in the classic (4 door), even the same trim.

(looks the same but i didn't measure or took it apart so no guarantee there).

checked the etka and physically they fit but...

As "vwmad1987" mentioned. there is no side handle to lift the back of it forward so wont do any good unless like me.

iv got vr6 leathers in my 3dr from a 5 door, if you just slide the seat forward and roll the backrest up you can get in and out fairly easily, but doesnt really bother me as i hate having people in the back anywho.

although on them they're are still catches where i may look at fitting a cable to be able to tilt forawrd like a 3dr

I 2nd this I've got 5door 16v mk3 golf gti seats in mine and although its not as smooth an action, there is no problem with people getting in and out of the back (unless they are really fat)
