the only problem is i don't seem to have the right number for him, is there any way i could get his number? i have his address, registration and insurance details but i think i wrote his number down wrong

Damn oh well, still hopefully look good haha

Shit man, I say go through insurance and get the money through that way!! - Looks fixable to me

And my old grille! Think it will look good bud :)

Yeah i think i might have to. Just wanted to try a sort it out without the hassel first. I got the car check today and it is still driveable so it can wait for a while untill i get it sorted. I put the bumper back on now so it doesnt really even look damaged now haha

Had to raise the car today as i am going on a 4 hour round trip tomorrow with 4 passengers and a boot full of camera, lighting and sound equipment so i didn't really want scraping sounds all the way and to ruin my tyres.

On a good note though, i managed to get hold of the guy that crashed into me and he said that he will probably just pay to fix my car rather than go through the insurance which is really good will hopefully get the money sometime in the next week or two and then get it fixed at the end of the month along with fitting the exhaust system

i am the only one that drives in my group at uni so it is either raise my car or walk haha

i was thinking about having the rear bumper smoothed seeing as though it is being repainted anyway with the repair, but apart from that i can't really afford to do anything else at the moment.

When i have some more money i might get the front smoothed a bit, it all really depends how long i am planning on keeping the car as to what i do to it really. I have soooo much i want to do but if i get rid of it in the summer then it is a waste of money so i am not really sure haha

not really having much good luck with the car at the moment, i was driving down a very narrow country road last week and a oncoming car hit my wing mirror and it smashed the glass. luckily i managed to get a replacement off ebay for £10 so it is not too bad.

also lowered the car back to how it was and i sticker bombed the front VW badge

i also brought a new DSLR so i thought i would take some nice pictures of my car

Can anyone recomend some other smallish/cheap mods that i could do as i am running out of ideas now?

I still have to fit the exhaust system, de wiper the rear and i am wanting to get some front fog lights but i can't really think of anything else to do apart from more expensive mods.

Also does anyone know if it will be easy to re cover the open air roof inside so that i could sort out my headlining?

Just an idea, but you could rub down your front splitter and paint it the same colour as the rest of the car? I did it with mine and it looked pretty well.

Whatever happened to your offset badge by the way?

Thats a good idea i might do that

ah i am having trouble with it at the moment, i plastic welded it at the weekend and then when i tried to fit it all the welds cracked so i am going to have to re do it when i go home from uni next time

yeah i know i need to get the tracking done, when i took the wheels off to lower it though there weren't really any signs of wear at the moment

When it goes in for repairs i am also having the exhaust fitted, tracking done and it also needs a service, so a nice long list of things to be done haha

haha oh shit sorry ! i just was reading and must of skipped a couple of pages it does look rude like that though how do people do it plastic weld it together fill and smooth it off ?

  • Author

yeah that is the basics, it is just getting it strong enough to not crack when you try to fit it unlike what i did haha

Plastic weld, then fiberglass resin/matting the shit out of the back of it, that should give it a good bit of strength!

ah come on spill the beans i am having a nightmare with it haha

right i am going to try and retrim my headlining soon and i have got it down to 2 ideas. i have done a quick photoshop of what they will both look like

Black suede

Blackheadlining.jpg

Or blue camo

camoheadlining.jpg

I prefer the blue camo at the moment just cos the black looks a bit boring but i am not too sure. i am going to look at prices tomorrow and that could decide it for me.

What do you guys think?

Also i have booked my car into the garage for next wednesday to have the damage fixed or as the cheque still hasn't come i will just get the exhaust and a service done instead so either way something will be done by next weekend

OH-HELL-NO-BLUE-CAMO.
