I've been a member on here for about a year now but never posted any pictures of my car up.

I started out with a 1.4 8v 6N2 in January which i really liked and had lots of plans for. Unfortunately i never managed to do anything with this car though because it just kept on breaking and using up my money. In the time i owned it I had an oil leak, a broken shock which caused further damage to the car, a broken catalytic convertor, 2 broken brake light switches, a failed MOT due to a leking shock absorber. On top of that were the costs of new tyres etc. This would all have been fine if i had been left with a reliable car after all this work but I then had another oil leak, an engine speed sensor broke and the gagrage found a leak in the gear box and the gear box started to play up so i decided to sell it before anything else went wrong.

This car became known as the devil car named by one of my mates becasue it liked to take all my money and break lots and it was red.

I part exchanged the 6N2 and was given £650 and he changed the cambelt and water pump on the new car for free using genuine vw parts.

As a new car i decided to get a 9N Sport TDi which I'm loving driving. One the way home from picking it up I noticed the wishbone bushes were knackered so i phoned the guy who sold me it and he was very reasonable and took it back in to his workshop straight away and changed them for free with new stronger bushes.

I drove it aroung for a few weeks and it ended up looking like this

I want to keep the car nice and OEM so I'm thinking ill get the VW OEM 6cd changer, some bigger OEM alloys and maybe colour code the bump strips in the summer. I cant go lowering it too much because i use it daily to get me to uni and back.

I'm also getting a XCarlink iPod adapter which plugs in to the standard stereo for chrismas so ill post a mini review of that when i get it.

Very nice is it the 130 sport? The 1.9 TDi doesnt half make this car shift!

Nah its only the 100 sport but its still quick and has suprised a few of my mates. The 130 is harder to find and tend to cost a lot more so i went with the 100. Maybe after a year of driving it like it is ill get a remap to 140.

Those TDi engines in the Polo must be pretty awesome! Got the 115 one in my Bora which is quick enough! Really easy to get more power out of with a re-map.

The only problem with having the power is that i now keep putting my foot down so I'm only getting around 55mpg to a tank although i am also doing a lot of short journeys as well due to not being at uni

I added in my XCarlink iPod kit which i got for christmas the pther day.

I'm really impressed with the quality of the sound. The kit runs though the standard stereo through the CD changer port. It allows you to keep the CD player if you have one too but i dont at the moment but plan on getting one when a decently priced one comes up on ebay.

Anyway here are some pictures of me fitting it.

The kit came from http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?prod...at=2&page=1 It was quite a good price in comparison with other kits such as the dension kit. I got the optional extra bluetooth unit.

I had to remove the stereo and the cubby below to fit it. I put the main unit behind the blanking plate to the right of the stereo and had to drill a hole through the top of this slot for the wires to thread through.

Eventually i got all of the wires back in to the dash properly and got the stereo back in but it was a tight fit with all of the extra wires behind the stereo.

I put the microphone in below the cubby slot. This isnt a great location for it because the microphone isnt very sensitive and i have to talk loudly for it to be heard. I could have put it at the top of the A pillar but i couldnt be bothered with taking all of the trim off because i knew it would be a complete pain to put back on afterwards.

I decided to replace the standard tray in the dash with a cubby slot wiht a lid as it would hide the iPod wire and i wanted one anyway.

The part number for this by the way was 6Q0857465A1QA (The new number may be slightly different due to this part being redesigned several times).

Overall I am very happy with the kit and would definitely recommend it to other people. When the iPod is plugged in through the wire it can be controlled though the stereo as well as through the iPod. The bluetooth will also allow music streaming although the sound quality is not quite as good and the stereo cant be used to control the tracks. The unit also has aux in but i didnt bother with wiring it up.
